Cannabis-based medicines and medical cannabis for adults with cancer pain
CONCLUSIONS: There is moderate-certainty evidence that oromucosal nabiximols and THC are ineffective in relieving moderate-to-severe opioid-refractory cancer pain. There is low-certainty evidence that nabilone is ineffective in reducing pain associated with (radio-) chemotherapy in people with head and neck cancer and non-small cell lung cancer. There is low-certainty evidence that a single dose of synthetic THC analogues is not superior to a single low-dose morphine equivalent in reducing moderate-to-severe cancer pain. There is low-certainty evidence that CBD does not add value to specialist palliative care alone in the ...

However, small plants and herbs always impart a much loss in the yields of the crop and farmers are using tons of herbicides to eradicate that problem. Across the world, several herbicides are available in the market for effective crop management, however, scientists observed various environmental and health effects of the herbicide...

Pre-clinical efficacy of African medicinal plants used in the treatment of snakebite envenoming: A systematic review
Toxicon. 2023 Jan 24:107035. doi: 10.1016/j.toxicon.2023.107035. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe World Health Organization has listed Snakebite Envenoming (SBE) as a priority neglected tropical disease, with a worldwide annual snakebite affecting 5.4 million people and injuring 2.7 million lives annually. In many parts of rural areas of Africa and Asia, medicinal plants have been used as alternatives to conventional antisnake venom (ASV) due in part to inaccessibility to hospitals. A concise review of mushrooms antiviral and immunomodulatory properties that may combat against COVID-19
Food Chem Adv. 2022 Oct;1:100023. doi: 10.1016/j.focha.2022.100023. Epub 2022 Mar 2.ABSTRACTThe World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 as a pandemic on March 11, 2020, because of its widespread transmission and infection rates. The unique severe disease was found in Wuhan, China, since December 2019, and swiftly spread throughout the world. Natural chemicals derived from herbal medicines and medicinal mushrooms provide a significant resource for the development of novel antiviral drugs. Many natural drugs have been proven to have antiviral properties against a variety of virus strains, such as the coronavirus an...

The effect of Moringa oleifera capsule in increasing breast milk volume in early postpartum patients: A double-blind, randomized controlled trial
CONCLUSIONS: Even 900 mg/day of the Moringa oleifera leaf could not significantly increase breast milk volume in early postpartum mothers, but the amount of breast milk in the Moringa oleifera group was 47% more than the one in the control group. The exclusive breastfeeding rate at 6 months in the Moringa oleifera group achieved the goals set by the WHO. Therefore, Moringa oleifera leaf may be used as a galactagogue herb to increase the volume of breast milk.PMID:36440058 | PMC:PMC9684698 | DOI:10.1016/j.eurox.2022.100171
