The efficacy and safety of pharmacological treatments for post-stroke aphasia.
Conclusions Current evidence suggests that drugs can improve the prognosis of post-stroke aphasia, such as donepezil, memantine. Donepezil has a significant effect in improving the ability of auditory comprehension, naming, repetition and oral expression. Memantine has a significant effect in improving the ability of naming, spontaneous speech and repetition. Bromocriptine showed no significant improvement in the treatment of aphasia after stroke. The trial for galantamine, amphetamine and levodopa in the treatment of aphasia after stroke is limited and inconclusive. PMID: 29984673 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Research on changes in cognitive function, β-amyloid peptide and neurotrophic factor in stroke patients.
CONCLUSIONS: The cognitive function in stroke patients is impaired, with the rising content of serum Aβ1-40 and reduction of BDNF, the mechanism of which is related to the decrease of cAMP and p-CREB and the increase of p-Tau. Shuxuening injection facilitates neurofunctional recovery via down-regulation of G-CSF-mediated granulocyte adhesion and diapedesis pathway in a subacute stroke mouse model.
This study was to investigate whether SXNI can improve the prognosis of stroke at a subacute phase. China Stroke Registry for Patients With Traditional Chinese Medicine (CASES-TCM): Rationale and Design of a Prospective, Multicenter, Observational Study
Conclusion: To our knowledge, the CASES-TCM study is the first and largest nationwide registry to document comprehensive data on TCM treatment in patients with acute stroke. The findings of this study will be valuable to improve our knowledge about TCM treatment for patients with stroke and its subsequent outcomes in the actual clinical setting, consequently facilitating and standardizing the optimization of individualized interventions with TCM for stroke prevention and treatment in China.Study registration: This study was registered with Clinicaltrials.gov (URL: https://clinicaltrials.gov/, Unique identifier: NCT04921397).
