Acupuncture Alters Brain's Dynamic Functional Network Connectivity in Stroke Patients with Motor Dysfunction: A Randomised Controlled Neuroimaging Trial
CONCLUSIONS: Acupuncture has the potential to modulate abnormal temporal properties and promote the balance of separation and integration of brain function. True acupoint stimulation may have a more positive effect on regulating the brain's dynamic function. Clinical Trial Registration. This trial is registered with Chinese Clinical Trials Registry (ChiCTR1800016263).PMID:37383656 | PMC:PMC10299883 | DOI:10.1155/2023/8510213

Identification of Functional Genetic Polymorphisms at IL-10 Promoter Region and Their Association With Risk of Ischemic Stroke in Chinese Han Population
ConclusionsThe G allele frequency at the -1082 promoter region of IL-10 was rare in Chinese Han population which are diffierent from American/European populations.. IL-10 -819 C>T may be an independent protective factor for IS in the Chinese Han population.

Association Between PPARs Gene Functional Polymorphisms and Ischemic Stroke in Chinese Uyghur Population
AbstractPPAR γ and PPARα belong to a receptor family of ligand-activated transcription factors involved in the regulation of inflammation, cellular glucose uptake, protection against atherosclerosis and endothelial cell function. Through these effects, they might be involved with the ischemic stroke (IS). We r ecruited 100 IS patients diagnosed by CTs or/and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and 100 normal healthy controls from Chinese Uyghur Population to assess the nature of the functional polymorphisms of PPARs and any links with IS in this unique population which has 60% European ancestry and 40% East Asian ancestry. ...

Mechanical thrombectomy for a 12-year-old boy with acute ischemic stroke: A case report
Conclusions: Mechanical thrombectomy can be performed safely for children with AIS, but needs a further research with large samples.

A rare cause of monogenic cerebral small vessel disease and stroke: Cathepsin A-related arteriopathy with strokes and leukoencephalopathy (CARASAL)
ConclusionsCARASAL should be considered in patients with early onset or severe cerebral small vessel disease, particularly where there are prominent symptoms or signs related to brainstem involvement, such as hearing dysfunction, tinnitus or dysphagia or where there is significant thalamic and brainstem involvement on imaging.

Potential Applications of Remote Limb Ischemic Conditioning for Chronic Cerebral Circulation Insufficiency
Conclusion Due to its long-term and often invisible course, CCCI has received less attention than acute cerebral ischemic stroke. However, without appropriate intervention, CCCI may lead to a variety of adverse events. Because the pathophysiological changes associated with CCCI are complex, pharmacological research in this area has been disappointing. Recent research suggests that RLIC, which is less invasive and more well-tolerated than drug treatment, can activate endogenous protective mechanisms during CCCI. In the present report, we reviewed studies related to CCCI (Table 1), as well as those related to stroke and sta...

Correlation Between Intracranial Arterial Calcification and Imaging of Cerebral Small Vessel Disease
Conclusion: Intracranial artery calcification is common in patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease and the intracranial carotid artery is most frequently affected. Intracranial arterial calcifications might be associated with imaging markers of SVD and are highly correlated with WMHs, lacunes, and CMBs. Quantification of calcification on CT provides additional information on the pathophysiology of SVD. Intracranial arterial calcification could act as a potential marker of SVD. Introduction Atherosclerosis is a systemic vascular process that is considered a major cause of cerebrovascular and cardiovascular di...
