Correlates of human papillomavirus vaccine knowledge and acceptability among medical and allied health students in Northern Nigeria
In conclusion, most students were willing to receive HPV vaccination, despite their sub-optimal level of knowledge and low vaccine uptake. We recommend piloting the HPV vaccine in health colleges and recruiting early adopters as peer educators and advocates.IMPACT STATEMENTWhat is already known on this subject? Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine has been introduced in over 80 countries in the past decade, but evidence suggests low awareness of HPV infection and the vaccine, especially in developing countries. Agreement between patients' self‐report and medical records for vaccination: the PGRx database
ConclusionsThe PGRx method for drug exposure assessment is a new tool in pharmacoepidemiology that shows substantial to high agreement between PS and MR for exposure to various vaccines. Our finding of high agreement between PS and MR for HPV vaccination status in young women is a significant addition to the literature. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Self-report compared to electronic medical record across eight adult vaccines: Do results vary by demographic factors?
Abstract Immunizations are crucial to the prevention of disease, thus, having an accurate measure of vaccination status for a population is an important guide in targeting prevention efforts. In order to comprehensively assess the validity of self-reported adult vaccination status for the eight most common adult vaccines we conducted a survey of vaccination receipt and compared it to the electronic medical record (EMR), which was used as the criterion standard, in a population of community-dwelling patients in a large healthcare system. In addition, we assessed whether validity varied by demographic factors. The v...

Higher Prevalence of Human Papillomavirus-Related Cervical Precancerous Abnormalities in HIV-Infected Compared to HIV-Uninfected Women.
CONCLUSION: HIV-infected women remained at significantly higher risk for developing cervical precancerous lesions when exposed to hrHPV than their uninfected counterparts. Hispanic women were least likely to have been vaccinated. Missed HPV vaccination trended towards being associated with a higher odds of precancerous lesions. Routine HPV vaccination should be reinforced for adolescents and young women using public hospital facilities of all races and ethnic backgrounds. PMID: 26928484 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

The health care of children and adolescents is described based on 7 indicators: total medical visits, paediatrician visits, general practitioner visits, hospitalisation, health screening examinations and vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV). Prevalence and mean values with 95 % confidence intervals were reported, and with logistic and linear regressions, the...
