Allergenicity and Stability of 6 New Korean Bony Fish Extracts
CONCLUSIONS: The commercial SPT fish extracts exhibited considerable variation in terms of allergenicity, which may impact on diagnostic accuracy. Our new fish extracts have sufficient allergenicity and stability and may be adequate to various clinical applications.PMID:34212548 | PMC:PMC8255345 | DOI:10.4168/aair.2021.13.4.623

Updated Criteria to Include Contact Allergens in the European Baseline Series With Suggested Additions
This article discusses these shifts in exposure and hence potential additions and deletions from the EBS.Recent findingsThe formaldehyde-releasing preservatives imidazolidinyl urea 2% pet., diazolidinyl urea 2% pet. and 2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1,3-diol 0.5% pet. should be considered for inclusion in the EBS as published data has shown formaldehyde 2% aq. is an inadequate screen for contact allergy to the formaldehyde releasers. Other potential additions include isothiazolinones preservatives, sodium metabiosulphite, linalool hydroperoxide and limonene hydroperoxide, Compositae mix II, sorbitan monooleate and sorbitan sesqui...

Modulation of CD4+ T Helper Cell Memory Responses in the Human Skin
Immunological memory is defined as the capacity to mount faster and more effective immune responses against antigenic challenges that have been previously encountered by the host. CD4+ T helper (Th) cells play central roles in the establishment of immunological memory as they assist the functions of other leukocytes. Th cells express polarized cytokine profiles and distinct migratory and seeding capacities, but also retain a certain functional plasticity that allows them to modulate their proliferation, activity, and homing behaviour upon need. Thus, in healthy individuals, T cell immunomodulation fulfils the task of elici...

The Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio at the Time of Admission: A New Prognostic Indicator for Hospital Mortality of Trauma Patients
Iran J Allergy Asthma Immunol. 2021 Jan 30;20(1):33-45. doi: 10.18502/ijaai.v20i1.5411.ABSTRACTThe elevated neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is associated with poor clinical outcomes, especially in pro-inflammatory states such as surgical injuries and severe hemorrhages. Therefore, it was hypothesized whether NLR value at the time of admission could be a prognostic indicator of hospital mortality in trauma patients. This retrospective cohort study was conducted on 865 trauma patients referred to Rajaee Hospital between April 2016 and July 2019. The NLR value was calculated at the time of admission, and receiver operati...
