Component resolved diagnosis of egg yolk is an indispensable part of egg allergy
CONCLUSIONS: Our results suggested that there were individual differences in allergenicity of different egg allergen components, especially in the samples negative to egg allergy diagnosed but sensitive to egg yolk components. It was indicated that component resolved diagnosis of egg yolk improved the value for egg allergy management indispensably.PMID:33641288 | DOI:10.15586/aei.v49i2.31

Laboratorial characteristics of patients with diarrhoea suffering from egg white allergy.
CONCLUSION: Egg white-specific IgE antibody could coexist with egg white-specific IgG antibody in patients suffering from egg white allergy. Aberrant changes in the concentration of egg white-specific IgE antibody were associated with the presence of egg white-specific IgG antibody. PMID: 23850121 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

The latest on a simple way to help prevent food allergies in kids
Follow me at @drClaire Want to prevent your child from being allergic to peanuts or eggs? Here’s what the latest research says you should do: Feed them peanut products and eggs when they are babies. I’ve been a pediatrician for more than 25 years, and the standard advice I gave families for years — advice recommended by allergy specialists — was to hold off on giving babies foods that commonly cause allergic reactions. I told them not to give egg, dairy, seafood, or wheat in their child’s first year — and to wait until 2 or 3 years old to give peanuts or other nut products. That was bad advice. A few years ...

Stepwise oral immunotherapy for 10 days in an egg-white allergy mouse model did not ameliorate the severity of allergy but induced the production of allergen-specific IgA.
We examined whether the stepwise oral immunotherapy (OIT) for 10 days ameliorates the severity of allergy and the biomarkers in an allergy mouse model. The OIT could not protect anaphylaxis symptoms after allergen challenges but promote the production of antibodies, especially allergen-specific IgA. It was suggested that this OIT influenced the function of immuno response against the allergen. Egg‐white‐specific IgA and IgA2 antibodies in egg‐allergic children: Is there a role in tolerance induction?
ConclusionsThese results suggest a potential role for allergen‐specific IgA2 antibodies in the induction of food tolerance. Furthermore, they support the hypothesis that immature or impaired production of allergen‐specific IgA2 may be associated with the pathophysiology of food allergy, a defect that seems to be selective for the culprit allergen.

Utility of the allerport® hrt in the diagnosis of hen's egg allergy: a pediatric multicenter challenge study.
Conclusion Allerport® HRT is useful for the diagnosis of hen's egg allergy, and may also aid in predicting the severity of induced symptoms. PMID: 25924907 [PubMed - in process]

Safety and feasibility of heated egg yolk challenge for children with egg allergies
ConclusionsMost pediatric patients allergic to heated hen's egg safely consumed heated egg yolk. Heated egg yolk OFCs rarely provoked severe symptoms, and may be recommended for improving the QOL of children with allergy to hen's egg. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.

an adult case of egg allergy treated with rush oral immunotherapy.
[AN ADULT CASE OF EGG ALLERGY TREATED WITH RUSH ORAL IMMUNOTHERAPY]. Arerugi. 2017;66(9):1181-1184 Authors: Yamazaki M, Isozaki A, Tanaka A, Ando E, Nakamura Y, Kurihara K Abstract A 26-year-old female patient exhibited symptoms associated with egg allergy, which had been present since early childhood. The patient requested the treatment of egg allergy and was admitted to our hospital for rush oral immunotherapy. The threshold was determined by an oral food challenge test, after positive results on a double-blind food challenge test. The patient ingested dry powder of raw egg-white 5 times per day sta...

Allergy-preventive effects of linarinic acid and its tetrahydropyrrolo2,1-bquinazoline derivatives isolated from Linaria vulgaris
We examined their allergy-preventive effects using an in vivo assay system we developed previously, that monitors a decrease in blood flow in the tail vein of mice subjected to sensitization with hen egg-white lysozyme. We observed that4a and its three derivatives, amide (6a), ester (5a), bromine (4b), and alcohol substituent (6b), showed significant allergy-preventive activities. The study confirmed the allergy-preventive activity of tetrahydropyrrolo[2,1-b]quinazoline derivatives by comprehensively monitoring the specific blood flow decrease occurring in the induction phase of allergy. This finding may aid in the develop...

Component-Resolved Diagnostic Study of Egg Allergy in Northern Chinese Children.
Conclusion: Patterns of sIgE to egg components could distinguish different forms of egg allergy. Ratios of sIgE/sIgG4 could be useful in predicting tolerance in egg-sensitive subjects, but this needs further evaluation and investigation using more accurate models. Phenotypes of persistent hen`s egg allergy in children and adolescents
CONCLUSIONS: Persistent hen`s egg allergy is characterized by multiple food allergies and age-related multimorbidities. Baked egg and heated egg yolk tolerance were more likely to be considered in a subgroup with a high expectation for finding a way to eliminate their allergy.PMID:36866980 | DOI:10.24953/turkjped.2021.5417
