Specific IgE and skin prick tests to diagnose allergy to fresh and baked cow ’s milk according to age: a systematic review
ConclusionsNone of the cut-offs proposed in the literature can be used to definitely confirm cow ’s milk allergy diagnosis, either to fresh pasteurized or to baked milk. However, in children<  2 years, cut-offs for specific IgE or SPT seem to be more homogeneous and may be proposed.

Use of aerobiological information systems in pollen allergy management
Conclusions: involvement in a prospective study including an educational intervention on pollen allergy management seems to produce long term benefits in allergic subjects, regardless of AIS use. Further studies on larger samples and longer follow-ups are needed. Supported by EU LIFE program, project no. LIFE13 ENV/IT/001107.

Nickel allergy following EU regulation in Denmark, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom
ConclusionThere has been a reduction in the prevalence of nickel allergy in young women, contemporaneous with the introduction of the nickel regulation. A reduction is also suggested in German and British men. A causative effect of the regulatory intervention is the most likely explanation. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.

Respiratory allergy in immigrants to a highly industrialised area in Italy according to area of origin and time period.
CONCLUSIONS: Immigrants develop multiple sensitisations more frequently than native-born people, and are especially sensitised to local allergens; the country of origin seems to play a role. PMID: 25456530 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Low-Dose Oral Food Challenge with Hazelnut: Efficacy and Tolerability in Children
Conclusions: To our knowledge, this was the first study to assess the efficacy and tolerability of H-LDOFC in a pediatric population. Our study suggests that in children with HA, H-LDOFC is well accepted and safe because adverse reactions are mild and the majority are represented by localized symptoms (oral allergy syndrome) and efficient, especially in terms of improvement of quality of life. For these reasons it could be more extensively used in the treatment of HA.Int Arch Allergy Immunol

The Diagnosis of Ceftriaxone Hypersensitivity in a Paediatric Population
Conclusion: IDTs seem to be useful for diagnosing CT IRs. Hypersensitivity to CT is confirmed in 28.9% of children, although a large fraction of parents refused an intravenous rechallenge (45.6%). It remains unknown whether this is due to the fact this was intravenous rather than a rechallenge with the culprit, but it reflects a clinical reality. Otherwise, cross- and/or co-allergy between CT and AMX/CLV is a rare event.Int Arch Allergy Immunol

The disease burden in patients with respiratory allergies induced by house dust mites: a year-long observational survey in three European countries
ConclusionsIn a 13-month, fortnightly survey of patients in France, Italy and Spain with a self-reported history of moderate-to-severe, poorly controlled, HDM-induced allergic rhinitis and asthma, we found that a relevant minority of participants regularly reported a severe or very severe impact of their allergy on tiredness, sleep and professional activities (including time off work). The disease burden peaked in autumn and late spring.

Sensitivity of prick test with walnut commercial extracts and of prick by prick with raw walnut compared with open food challenge in walnut allergy
CONCLUSIONS: In the specific case of walnut allergy in pediatric age, the execution of SPT alone with commercial extract may not be sufficient and clarifying in the diagnostic iter. We suggest to always associate the execution of PbP test.PMID:33944826 | DOI:10.23750/abm.v92iS1.10043

Hypersensitivity reactions to iodinate contrast media in Italy: a retrospective study. Characteristics of patients and risk factors
Conclusions. This is the largest study on Italian patients experiencing hypersensitivity reactions to ICM. Most results are in line with other studies, showing some association with factors that could influence the incidence of hypersensitivity reactions but not allowing an easy risk stratification.PMID:34225444 | DOI:10.23822/EurAnnACI.1764-1489.225
