PP-096 A Newly Defined CHA2DS2-VASc-CAC Score and Using Prediction of Coronary Artery Disease Severity by Computed Tomography
CHA2DS2-VASc scores are validated tools for assessing stroke risk in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). It is known that traditional risk factors for coronary artery disease and CHAD2 VASc score's parameters are similar.We formulated the CHA2DS2-VASc-CAC score comprising coronary calcium score(CACS) in addition to the components of the CHA2DS2-VASc score and male instead of female gender as We evaluated multivariable risk assessment tools to identify those at high risk of severe CAD in patients who underwent computed tomography(CT).

Massive Left Ventricular Calcification
94-year-old male presented for follow-up for shortness of breath. He has a history of two episodes of anterior and inferior myocardial infarction (MI) (eight and thirteen years ago) with stent revascularization, ischemic cardiomyopathy, implantable cardioverter defibrillator, paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, and stroke. Lab investigation showed normal kidney function and calcium level. Echocardiography showed a reduced left ventricular (LV) ejection fraction of 25%, diastolic dysfunction, severe anteroseptal hypokinesis, otherwise normal LV.

Epigallocatechin-3-gallate modulates arrhythmogenic activity and calcium homeostasis of left atrium
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the commonest sustained arrhythmia, and increases the risk of stroke, heart failure, and mortality. Calcium (Ca2+) overload and oxidative stress are thought to participate in the pathogenesis of AF. Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) has an antioxidative effect and been shown to be beneficial in promoting cardiovascular health. However, it is not clear if EGCG directly modulates the electrophysiological characteristics and Ca2+ homeostasis of the left atrium (LA).

Adverse outcomes in patients with atrial fibrillation and peripheral arterial disease: a report from the EURObservational research programme pilot survey on atrial fibrillation
ConclusionPeripheral arterial disease is prevalent in 11% of AF patients and related to various atherosclerotic risk factors. Even if PAD is associated with higher risk of all-cause death on univariate analysis, this risk was significantly lowered and was no longer evident after adjusting for the use of CV prevention drugs.
