Analysis of Epidemiological Characteristics of New Cardiovascular Diseases in Cancer Patients with Cardiovascular Disease
J Oncol. 2022 Aug 31;2022:5157398. doi: 10.1155/2022/5157398. eCollection 2022.ABSTRACTIn cancer patients, a cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a prevalent occurrence. When a patient has both heart disease and cancer, the treatment can be complicated because treatment for one condition can have an adverse effect on the outcome of the other. A cardiovascular disease that involves heart failures, coronary artery disease (CAD), stroke, pericardial diseases, arrhythmias, and valve and vascular dysfunction is a serious worry for long-term cancer patients. Because preclinical research is limited, it is critical to comprehend the pa...

Assessing radiation-induced carotid vasculopathy using ultrasound after unilateral irradiation: a cross-sectional study
CONCLUSIONS: Increased CCA-IMT and SWV in some segments were seen in irradiated carotids. These alterations, even in young patients, mark the need for surveillance of radiation-induced vasculopathy.TRIAL REGISTRATION: clinicaltrials.gov ( https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04257968 ).PMID:35871069 | DOI:10.1186/s13014-022-02101-7

A brief report on incidence, radiographic feature and prognostic significance of brain MRI changes after anti-PD-1/PD-L1 therapy in advanced non-small cell lung cancer
ConclusionsBrain MRI aberrations developed after ICI treatment are not uncommon, and their manifestations vary a lot. Patients developing brain MRI aberrations tended to have better prognosis, which needed to be further investigated.

Isolated oculomotor nerve palsy as a manifestation of diffuse large B cell lymphoma: A case report.
Authors: Khaleefah MM, Narayanan S, Dallal HAA, Jones CM, Friedland RP, Palade AE, Remmel KS, Shah JJ Abstract An isolated third nerve palsy presenting as the primary manifestation of a lymphoma is rare, with only few cases having been described. The present study reports an unusual case of a healthy 67-year old male diagnosed with isolated right oculomotor nerve palsy (ONP), who was found to have an underlying B cell lymphoma. The patient's medical records were accessed upon consent. A thorough physical examination, including stroke and infections work-ups were performed. A chest computerized tomography (CT), brai...

Cancers, Vol. 11, Pages 111: A Review on a Deep Learning Perspective in Brain Cancer Classification
uca Saba Jasjit S. Suri A World Health Organization (WHO) Feb 2018 report has recently shown that mortality rate due to brain or central nervous system (CNS) cancer is the highest in the Asian continent. It is of critical importance that cancer be detected earlier so that many of these lives can be saved. Cancer grading is an important aspect for targeted therapy. As cancer diagnosis is highly invasive, time consuming and expensive, there is an immediate requirement to develop a non-invasive, cost-effective and efficient tools for brain cancer characterization and grade estimation. Brain scans using magnetic resonanc...

Polyglobulia in patients with hemangioblastomas is related to tumor size but not to serum erythropoietin
ConclusionsWe therefore conclude that in contrast to previous case reports and interpretations, our data show no correlation between polyglobulia and EPO levels or associated cysts in patients with hemangioblastomas. In fact, it is the size of the solid tumor that correlates with polyglobulia. The study was retrospectively registered in the German Clinical Trial Registry on 10 July 2014; Trial registration:DRKS00006310.

Characteristics of Ventricular Function in Pulmonary Hypertension Patients
with Different Shape of Interventricular Septum:
Preliminary Study with Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Background and objective To study the characteristics of ventricular function in Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) Patients with different shape of Interventricular Septum (IVS) by cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR). Methods 36 PH patients diagnosed by right heart catheterization accepted CMR. According to the morphology of IVS, the patients were divided into two groups: the non-deformation group (10 patients) and the deformation group (26 patients). The ventricular function parameters were as follows: RV and LV end-diastolic volume index (EDVI), end-systolic volume index (ESVI), stroke volume index (SVI), cardiac index (CI), ejec...

Altered resting-state functional activity in isolated pontine infarction patients with pathological laughing and crying.
We examined both the amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation and the regional homogeneity in order to comprehensively evaluate the intrinsic activity in patients with post-stroke pathological laughing and crying. In the post-stroke pathological laughing and crying group, changes in these measures were observed mainly in components of the default mode network (medial prefrontal cortex/anterior cingulate cortex, middle temporal gyrus, inferior temporal gyrus, superior frontal gyrus, middle frontal gyrus and inferior parietal lobule), sensorimotor network (supplementary motor area, precentral gyrus and paracentral lobule), aff...

Cervical epidural hematoma in a healthy donor presenting stroke mimic symptoms: a rare adverse event following peripheral blood stem cell apheresis
This report is the first case of cervical epidural hematoma in a healthy donor who underwent peripheral blood stem cell apheresis and presented symptoms confusingly similar to those of brain infarction.
