Effect of tendon vibration on upper limb motor recovery with subacute hemiplegia after a stroke: A case report
We report the effect of tendon vibrations of the elbow and wrist flexor muscles on recovery of the upper limb in a recent hemiplegic patient. Observation A 69-year-old woman was admitted to our department for right hemiplegia and aphasia after a left middle cerebral artery (MCA) stroke and a left cerebellar infarct secondary to cardiac arrhythmia. Traditional manual acupuncture combined with rehabilitation therapy for shoulder hand syndrome after stroke within the Chinese healthcare system: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
CONCLUSION: Current evidence suggests that traditional manual acupuncture integrated with rehabilitation therapy is more effective in alleviating pain, improving limb movement and ADL. However, considering the relatively low quality of available evidence, further rigorously designed and large-scale randomized controlled trials are needed to confirm the results.

Conclusion. This is the first long-term follow-up of BoNT-A treatment for upper-limb spasticity involving a large cohort independent of industry. Quality of life was improved by treating upper-limb spasticity with BoNT-A, even at 5 years post-stroke. Personalizing objectives of the treatment amplified its efficacy. BoNT-A was a powerful analgesic when pain was spasticity-related. Treating the spastic upper limb also improved balance and gait abilities.
