The Effect of Chronic Disease Management Program on the Risk of Complications in Patients With Hypertension in Korea
CONCLUSION: The results showed that participants of the chronic disease management program were less likely to have hypertension complications compared to non-participants. Cancers, Vol. 14, Pages 2977: Association between Breast Cancer and Second Primary Lung Cancer among the Female Population in Taiwan: A Nationwide Population-Based Cohort Study
Conclusion: Patients with breast cancer had a significantly higher risk of developing second primary lung cancer compared with patients without breast cancer, particularly in younger groups and in those without any comorbidities. The special association may be attributed to some potential risk factors such as genetic susceptibility and long-term exposure to PM2.5, and is supposed to increase public awareness. Further studies are necessary given the fact that inherited genotypes, different subtypes of breast cancer and lung cancer, and other unrecognized etiologies may play vital roles in both cancers’ development.

Conclusions/interpretationCovid-19 confers an increased risk for type 2 diabetes. If confirmed, these results support the active monitoring of glucose dysregulation after recovery from mild forms of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection.Graphical abstract

IJERPH, Vol. 19, Pages 5118: Association of Postpartum Depression with Maternal Suicide: A Nationwide Population-Based Study
Conclusion: PPD was associated with a significantly higher rate of suicide and a shorter time to suicide after childbirth. Younger age, winter, and subclinical depression and anxiety positively predicted suicide in the study cohort. To prevent maternal suicide, clinicians should be observant of subclinical depression and anxiety symptoms among patients.

Prevalence and associated relating factors in patients with hereditary retinal dystrophy: a nationwide population-based study in Taiwan
CONCLUSIONS: 74% of the diagnosed HRD are retinitis pigmentosa. Population-based data suggested an increased incidence of cataract in younger patients, whereas older HRD patients are more susceptible to develop CME. National health insurance scheme: a means to effective stroke prevention among hypertensives in subsaharan africa
Uncontrolled hypertension is a leading cause of stroke in Sub-Saharan Africa. Factors affecting blood pressure control include low income, sedentary lifestyle and unhealthy diet. We sought to determine the role of National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) in achieving good blood control among hypertensives in Ghana and Nigeria and thus prevention of stroke and other cardiovascular complications of uncontrolled hypertension.
