ConclusionsOur study demonstrates robust performance and external validity of a core NLP tool kit for identifying both categorical and continuous outcomes of ischemic stroke from unstructured radiographic text data. Medically tailored NLP methods have multiple important big data applications, including scalable electronic phenotyping, augmentation of clinical risk prediction models, and facilitation of automatic alert systems in the hospital setting.

Moyamoya disease (MMD) is a chronic occlusive cerebrovascular disease characterized by bilateral progressive steno-occlusive changes of unknown etiology at the distal portion of the internal carotid artery or proximal portion of the anterior arteries and middle cerebral arteries, accompanied by the presence of an abnormal vessel network (moyamoya vessels) at the base of the brain.1 The incidence and prevalence of MMD are increasing worldwide, which may indicate an increase in the number of MMD patients or an underestimation of the actual number of MMD patients in the past.

A brain CT-based approach for predicting and analyzing stroke-associated pneumonia from intracerebral hemorrhage

Delirium detection using wearable sensors and machine learning in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage

Machine learning approach for hemorrhagic transformation prediction: Capturing predictors' interaction
ConclusionCerebral microbleeds, NIHSS, and infarction size were identified as HT predictors. The best predicting models were RFC and GBC capable of capturing nonlinear interaction between predictors. Predictor interaction suggests a dynamic, rather than, fixed cutoff risk value for any of these predictors.

Influence of the Intensive Care Unit Environment on the Reliability of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment
