Original Article: Increased Stroke Severity and Mortality in Patients with SARS-CoV-2 Infection: An Analysis from the N3C Database
Studies from early in the COVID-19 pandemic showed that patients with ischemic stroke and concurrent SARS-CoV-2 infection had increased stroke severity. We aimed to test the hypothesis that this association persisted throughout the first year of the pandemic and that a similar increase in stroke severity was present in patients with hemorrhagic stroke.

Clinical Burden of Angiographic Vasospasm and Its Complications After Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage: A Systematic Review
ConclusionPatients with angiographic VSP and its related complications often had poor functional, neurological, and cognitive outcomes and reduced odds of survival both in hospital and at follow-up. We estimate that angiographic VSP and its related complications, DCI and cerebral infarction, lead to an approximately threefold higher odds of poor functional and cognitive outcomes, and about a twofold increase in the odds of death.

Triglyceride-glucose index and the incidence of stroke: A meta-analysis of cohort studies
ConclusionA higher TyG index may be independently associated with a higher risk of stroke in individuals without stroke at baseline. The aforementioned findings need to be verified by a large-scale prospective cohort study to further clarify the underlying pathophysiological mechanism between the TyG index and stroke.

Mechanical Thrombectomy for Pediatric Large Vessel Occlusions
ConclusionIn our meta-analysis, MT demonstrated a  promising safety and efficacy profile for pediatric patients, with consistently high efficacy outcomes and low complication rates. Our results support the utilization of MT in pediatric LVOs; however, prospective studies are still needed to further establish the role of pediatric MT as a first-li ne treatment strategy.
