Prediction of hemorrhagic transformation via pre-treatment CT radiomics in acute ischemic stroke patients receiving endovascular therapy
CONCLUSION: CT radiomics analysis is a valuable tool for predicting HT in AIS patients receiving EVT. It may guide the selection of patients in practice and improve procedural safety and effectiveness.ADVANCES IN KNOWLEDGE: Identification of the importance of pre-treatment CT radiomics in the prediction of HT in AIS patients after EVT.PMID:37086070 | DOI:10.1259/bjr.20220439

Comparing the benefit of ASPECTS on maximum intensity projection images of computed tomography angiography to source images and noncontract computed tomography in predicting infarct volume and collaterals extent
In acute ischemic strokes (AIS), the Alberta Stroke Program Early Computed Tomography Score (ASPECTS) and CT perfusion (CTP) are commonly used to determine mechanical thrombectomy eligibility. Prior work suggests that CTA source image (CTA-SI) ASPECTS (CTAasp) and a newly described CTA maximum intensity projection (CTA-MIP) ASPECTS (MIPasp) better predict the final infarct core. Our goal was to compare MIPasp to CTAasp and non-contrast CT ASPECTS (NCCTasp) for predicting ischemic core and collaterals established by CTP.

Residual coronary artery tree description and lesion EvaluaTion (CatLet) score, clinical variables, and their associations with outcome predictions in patients with acute myocardial infarction
CONCLUSION: The rCatLet score has a predicting value for clinical outcomes for AMI patients and the incorporation of the three CVs into the rCatLet score will enhance its predicting ability.TRIAL REGISTRATION: http://www.chictr.org.cn, ChiCTR-POC-17013536.PMID:37052135 | DOI:10.1097/CM9.0000000000002640

Thrombectomy in basilar artery occlusions: impact of number of passes and futile reperfusion
Conclusions We found that BAO patients had a significant relationship between the number of MT passes and both recanalization and favorable functional outcome. We further found that the benefit of recanalization in BAO patients was significant only when recanalization was achieved within three passes, encouraging at least three passes before stopping the procedure.

Characteristics of culprit intracranial plaque without substantial stenosis in ischemic stroke using three-dimensional high-resolution vessel wall magnetic resonance imaging
CONCLUSION: 3D hr-vw MRI features of intracranial atherosclerotic plaques provided potential values over prediction of ischemic stroke patients with non-stenotic arteries. The plaque volume and enhancement ratio of whole plaque of stenosis site were found to be effective predictive parameters.PMID:37034175 | PMC:PMC10076565 | DOI:10.3389/fnins.2023.1160018

A long-term study of posterior circulation changes after revascularization in patients with moyamoya disease
CONCLUSIONS: Progression of PCA stenosis is common in patients with MMD, even if the PCA is normal initially. Mutations of RNF213 p.R4810K may predict PCA involvement or progression. Follow-up of the PCA in MMD patients should be conducted, and timely surgical revascularization is needed.PMID:37029668 | DOI:10.3171/2023.2.JNS222649
