Therapeutic Dilemma of Wake-up Stroke: Clinical and Brain Imaging Characteristics and Reperfusion as a Treatment Option
Conclusions: Only minor dissimilarities between clinical and radiologic features of WUS and clear-onset stroke were found. Circadian patterns of stroke onset were observed in both groups. Stroke was more likely to occur during waking than during sleep, and a diurnal pattern of common occurrence during the morning was documented. Recognition of the acceptable timeframe for acute reperfusion therapy in unwitnessed strokes is crucial so that thrombolytic treatment can be started for these patients.PMID:36441986 | DOI:10.4088/PCC.21m03216

The CHA2DS2-VASc score and the risk of ischemic stroke in community-dwelling individuals with and without atrial fibrillation: The Atherosclerosis Risk In Communities (ARIC) study
Conclusion The risk of ischemic stroke is low across CHA2DS2-VASc score categories in community-dwelling individuals without AF. Individuals with AF are at high risk for ischemic stroke even with low CHA2DS2-VASc score, suggesting the need for stroke prevention in individuals with AF and one CHA2DS2-VASc stroke risk factor.

Knowledge and Attitudes of Saudi Emergency Physicians toward t-PA Use in Stroke.
Conclusion: Our study detected inadequate knowledge and a negative attitude among Saudi emergency physicians toward t-PA use in acute stroke. This might negatively impact patient outcome. ConclusionOSA is an important risk factor for ischemic stroke during sleep. Health care providers must be vigilant in inquiring about symptoms suggestive of OSA in every ischemic stroke patient, especially the patient whose stroke occurred during sleep.

Stroke Seasonality and Weather Association in a Middle East Country: A Single Tertiary Center Experience
Conclusions: In Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, our study found no impact of weather or seasonal variations on stroke incidence, hospital course, or outcomes. However, our findings warrant further research in different country regions.
