Conclusions Aortic root dilatation is associated with high diastolic blood pressure, high stroke volume, central fat distribution, and inflammatory status. In contrast, at a given diastolic blood pressure and stroke volume, aortic root dilatation is associated with lower pulse pressure and systolic blood pressure.

Long-term influence of body mass index on cardiovascular events after atrial fibrillation ablation
Conclusions Lower weight at AF ablation lowers arrhythmia recurrence risk. However, AF ablation patients who are normal or underweight remain at high risk of other cardiovascular outcomes including increased stroke risk with less AF burden.

The efficacy and safety of apixaban versus warfarin are preserved in patients with atrial fibrillation and extreme body weight: Insights from the ARISTOTLE Study
ConclusionsThe efficacy and safety of apixaban versus warfarin appear to be similar in patients with extreme body weight when compared with non-obese subgroup of patients. Larger studies of patients with extreme body weight treated with NOACs are warranted.
