This article provides a review of the literature on the recent worsening of obesity in the paediatric population, with particular emphasis on the importance of the COVID-19 pandemic. Bariatric surgery alters mitochondrial function in gut mucosa
CONCLUSION: Ileal interposition decreases mitochondrial volume in the proximal intestinal mucosa of mice. This change in concentration with preserved respiration suggests a global mucosal response to segment specific nutrition signals in the distal bowel. Design, synthesis and evaluation of 2-pyrimidinylindole derivatives as anti-obesity agents by regulating lipid metabolism
In this study, we employed scaffold hopping and simplification strategies to design and synthesize two new series derivatives by modifying the D ring. Extensive discussions have been conducted regarding the structure-activity relationship between lipid-lowering activity and the new compounds. These discussions have resulted in the discovery of 2-pyrimidinylindole derivatives as a promising scaffold for anti-obesity treatment. Downregulated adipose tissue expression of browning genes with increased environmental temperatures
CONCLUSIONS: Decreased adipose tissue expression of genes involved in browning and adiponectin with increased environmental temperatures were observed. In conclusion, HIIT has been shown to reduce obesity-induced risks of cardiac remodeling, but the long-term effects of HIIT on obesity-induced cardiac injury and disease are presently unknown. Collective understanding highlights numerous specific research that are needed before the safety and effectiveness of HIIT can be confirmed and widely adopted in patient with obesity.
