Guidelines for the Management of Atopic Dermatitis in Children: A Systematic Review
Conclusions: Most guidelines were recommended for use with revision. No significant changes were observed in the primary management of atopic dermatitis in children compared to previous evidence. New biological agents and complementary alternative medicine are increasingly available, but the evidence for the treatment of atopic dermatitis in children is still limited.Int Arch Allergy Immunol

Prevalence and Risk Factors for Allergic Rhinitis in China: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Evid Based Complement Alternat Med. 2022 Sep 23;2022:7165627. doi: 10.1155/2022/7165627. eCollection 2022.ABSTRACTThe prevalence of allergic rhinitis (AR) has increased tremendously in the recent year in China. Evidence-based medicine to objectively evaluate the prevalence and risk factors for AR in China is urgently required. Toward this, we systematically searched four English and four Chinese databases to identify the literature on the same, from the year of website establishment until November 2021. A total of 51 studies were evaluated, and data were obtained through Stata 16 analysis. Overall pooled risk factors for a...

Qingpeng Ointment Ameliorates Inflammatory Responses and Dysregulation of Itch-Related Molecules for Its Antipruritic Effects in Experimental Allergic Contact Dermatitis
Conclusion Via a HPLC system and a BATMAN-TCM platform, for the first time we performed detailed HPLC fingerprint analysis and network pharmacology studies of QP ointment. By in-depth animal and molecular analysis, we identified a number of chronic dermatitis-associated Th1/2 cytokines, itch mediators, and cellular signaling pathways in the skin, DRG and serum for QP to treat the inflammation and chronic itch associated with ACD. Our data clearly suggested, upon stimulation, cytokines and itch-related mediators are released from the skin and neuronal tissues, and QP could effectively work on both the skin and sensory neur...

Complementary, alternative and integrative medicine for childhood atopic dermatitis.
CONCLUSIONS: AD is a complex disease. The psychodynamics of the child and his/her family is the reason for the often suboptimal outcomes. Both Western and CAM practitioners should collaborate to create a mutually encouraging environment for the advances of IM. CAM and IM publications and patents are reviewed. Evidence of their efficacy is generally lacking. Further research is needed. PMID: 29189188 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Eczema therapeutics in children: what do the clinical trials say?
Abstract Eczema or atopic dermatitis is a common childhood atopic disease associated with chronicity and impaired quality of life. As there is no cure for the disease, treatment relies on topical and systemic anti-allergic or immunomodulating therapies. Topical corticosteroid, macrolide immunosuppressants, and oral immunomodulating drugs for recalcitrant disease have been the mainstay of therapy. Management of atopic dermatitis must consider the individual symptomatic variability of the disease. Basic therapy is focused on patient/family education, hydrating topical treatment, and avoidance of specific and non-spe...
