The Severity-Calibrated Aphasia Naming Test
CONCLUSION: We provide a linear model to convert SCANT scores to aphasia severity scores, and we identify a change score cutoff of four SCANT items to obtain a high degree of confidence based on test-retest SCANT data and the modeled relation between SCANT and aphasia severity scores.SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIAL: https://doi.org/10.23641/asha.21476871.PMID:36332139 | DOI:10.1044/2022_AJSLP-22-00071

A Rare Pathologic Collecting and Hoarding Behavior Following Left Middle Cerebral Artery Territory Infarction
Conclusion: To the best of our knowledge, this is the first case of punding following an ischemic stroke at the caudate nucleus. Our case strengthens the hypothetical pathophysiology of punding, which may involve not only direct dopaminergic stimulation but also the dysregulation of the dopamine system.

Verbal and Nonverbal Memory in Neurodegenerative and Stroke Aphasia: Evidence From the Turkish Version of the Three Words Three Shapes Test
Conclusion: Although both aphasia groups shared similarities in the involvement of the dorsal prefrontal working memory/attention network, the PPA group showed greater impairment in delayed recall compared with the SA group.

Clinical characteristics and perfusion-computed tomography alterations in a series of patients with migraine with aura attended as stroke code
CONCLUSION: This is, to the best of our knowledge, the largest series of patients with MA managed as presumed stroke with clinical characteristics and PCT. In our study, most patients were young and had a prior history of migraine. PCT was normal in 88% of cases, with patients being still symptomatic by the time they were scanned. Further research will clarify the presence and type of PCT alterations in this entity.PMID:34862603 | DOI:10.1111/head.14243

A Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial of Intermittent Theta Burst Stimulation as Stand-Alone Treatment for Post-Stroke Aphasia: Effects on Language and Verbal Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI)
CONCLUSIONS Observed iTBS-induced language improvements and associations between delayed fMRI changes and aphasia improvements support the therapeutic and neurorehabilitative potential of iTBS in post-stroke aphasia recovery.PMID:34862359 | DOI:10.12659/MSM.934818

COVID-19 Infection and Recurrent Stroke in Young Patients With Protein S Deficiency: A Case Report
Conclusions: SARS-CoV-2 infection potentializes the prothrombotic effect and vascular inflammation by accentuating protein S deficit. The place of steroids seems justifiable in the presence of symptoms of vasculitis in brain imaging.

The anesthetic approach for endovascular recanalization therapy depends on the lesion site in acute ischemic stroke
ConclusionsThe VLSM analysis showed associations between GA and ischemic lesions in the left hemispheric middle cerebral artery territory and posterior circulation areas including the thalamus that are known to cause neurologic deficits, such as aphasia or compromised vigilance, in AIS-patients with EVT. Our data suggest that higher disability, clinical impairment due to neurological deficits like aphasia, or reduced alertness of affected patients may influence the physician ’s decision on using GA in EVT.

Isolated acute pseudobulbar palsy with infarction of artery of percheron: case report and literature review
Conclusion: To the authors ’ knowledge, there are two cases of individuals with artery of Percheron infarction who devel- oped PBP associated with other clinical syndromes. Still, isolated PBP following infarction of Percheron’s artery was not reported. We hypothesized that the PBP may have occurred because of the existen ce of vascular territory variations in the perforating arteries that arise from the AOP.Keywords: Pseudobulbar palsy; thalamus; infarction.
