Optimized Screening of Coronary Artery Disease With Invasive Coronary Angiography and Ad Hoc Percutaneous Coronary Intervention During Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement Structural Heart Disease
Conclusions— In patients undergoing TAVR, screening of CAD with invasive coronary angiography and ad hoc PCI during TAVR is feasible and was not associated with increased periprocedural risks. PCI followed by TAVR in the same session had similar outcomes than TAVR in which PCI was not performed.

Single center experience with the new generation derivo embolization device for ruptured and unruptured intracranial aneurysms.
CONCLUSIONS: Treatment of complex RIAs and UIAs with the new generation Derivo appeared to be safe and effective in this single centre case series for ruptured and unruptured intracranial aneurysms. Immediate DSA revealed a significant flow modulation; and 6-month follow-up showed a high occlusion rate. PMID: 31079436 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

E-006 U.S. health care system-wide transition from alteplase to tenecteplase before mechanical thrombectomy: functional outcomes, early reperfusion rates, intracranial bleeding and femoral access site complications
ConclusionsThe first-year experience demonstrates the effectiveness and safety of the transitioning from TPA to TNK. The higher early recanalization rates with TNK are striking. Additional studies are required to investigate whether TNK is superior to TPA in the setting of LVO stroke.Disclosures M. Collins: None. C. Schirmer: None. G. Weiner: None. O. Goren: None. I. Efficacy and safety of cilostazol based triple antiplatelet treatment versus dual antiplatelet treatment in patients undergoing coronary stent implantation: an updated meta-analysis of the randomized controlled trials
Abstract The aim of this study was to obtain best estimates of the efficacy and safety of cilostazol-based triple antiplatelet therapy (TAPT: aspirin, clopidogrel and cilostazol) compared with dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT: aspirin and clopidogrel) in patients undergoing coronary stent implantation. We searched the literature to identify all randomized clinical trials examining efficacy and safety of TAPT versus DAPT in patients undergoing coronary stent implantation. Major efficacy outcomes were death, non-fatal myocardial infarction (MI), ischemic stroke and stent thrombosis (ST) and the safety outcome was bl...

Eversion carotid endarterectomy without shunt: concerning 1,385 consecutive cases.
CONCLUSION: E--CEA can be performed safely, as a routine technique, based on the surgeon's evaluation of arterial back-bleeding and an increase in ipsilateral arterial perfusion with standard anesthetic procedures. Also e--CEA may be considered a cost effective method of reducing the frequency of intraarterial shunt placement and adjuncts used to assess adequate cerebral perfusion of the ipsilateral carotid artery during e--CEA. Surgical Versus Percutaneous Coronary Revascularization for Multivessel Disease in Diabetic Patients With Non-ST-Segment-Elevation Acute Coronary Syndrome: Analysis From the Acute Catheterization and Early Intervention Triage Strategy Trial Coronary Artery Disease
Conclusions— In the large-scale ACUITY trial, diabetic patients with acute coronary syndrome and multivessel disease treated with PCI rather than CABG had less bleeding and acute kidney injury, greater need for repeat revascularization procedures, and comparable rates of myocardial infarction, stroke, and death through 1-year follow-up. 4D-CTA in Neurovascular Disease: A Review REVIEW ARTICLES
This article provides a description of 4D-CTA techniques and a review of the available literature on the application of 4D-CTA for the evaluation of intracranial vascular malformations and hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke. Most of the research performed to date consists of observational cohort studies or descriptive case series. These studies show that intracranial vascular malformations can be adequately depicted and classified by 4D-CTA, with DSA as the reference standard. In ischemic stroke, 4D-CTA better estimates thrombus burden and the presence of collateral vessels than conventional CTA. In intracranial hemorrhage, 4...

Combined catheter ablation and left atrial appendage closure as a hybrid procedure for the treatment of atrial fibrillation
Conclusions The combination of CA and percutaneous LAAC in a single procedure is technically feasible in patients with symptomatic drug-refractory AF, high risk of stroke, and contraindications to OACs, although it is associated with a significant risk of major complications.

Impact of anemia on long-term outcomes in patients treated with first and second-generation drug-eluting stents Katowice-Zabrze Registry.
CONCLUSIONS: In patients with anemia is significant higher risk of death in the 12-month follow-up, while anemia has no impact on the incidence of MI, repeat revascularization, and stroke. There is no advantage DES II over DES I generation in terms of MACCE and TVR in patients with anemia. PMID: 26575311 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Invasive versus conservative strategy in patients aged 80 years or older with non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction or unstable angina pectoris (After Eighty study): an open-label randomised controlled trial
This study is registered with ClinicalTrials.gov, number NCT01255540. Findings During a median follow-up of 1·53 years of participants recruited between Dec 10, 2010, and Feb 21, 2014, the primary outcome occurred in 93 (40·6%) of 229 patients assigned to the invasive group and 140 (61·4%) of 228 patients assigned to the conservative group (hazard ratio [HR] 0·53 [95% CI 0·41–0·69], p=0·0001). Five patients dropped out of the invasive group and one from the conservative group. HRs for the four components of the primary composite endpoint were 0·52 (0·35–0·76; p=0·0010) for myocardial infarction, 0·19 (0·0...

Efficacy and Safety of Transbrachial Access for Iliac Endovascular Interventions
Conclusion: Brachial artery access enables endovascular treatment of iliac artery disease in the majority of patients, although an adjunctive transfemoral access may be required. However, the high incidences of access site complications and cerebral events remain a significant limitation of the transbrachial approach.
