Continuous time-resolved estimated synthetic 4D-CTs for dose reconstruction of lung tumor treatments at a 0.35 T MR-linac
Phys Med Biol. 2023 Sep 5. doi: 10.1088/1361-6560/acf6f0. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTTo experimentally validate a method to create continuous time-resolved estimated synthetic 4D-computed tomography datasets (tresCTs) based on orthogonal cine MRI data for lung cancer treatments at a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-guided linear accelerator (MR-linac).
Approach. A breathing porcine lung phantom was scanned at a CT scanner and 0.35 T MR-linac. Orthogonal cine MRI series (sagittal/coronal orientation) at 7.3 Hz, intersecting tumor-mimicking gelatin nodules, were deformably registered to mid-exhale 3D-CT and 3D-MRI...

Anti-SOX-1 Antibody-Positive Paraneoplastic Limbic Encephalitis Diagnosed During Small Cell Lung Cancer Treatment
We present a case of anti-Sry-like high mobility group box 1 (SOX-1) antibody-positive PNS diagnosed during the treatment of small-cell lung cancer (SCLC). A 65-year-old woman with a history of smoking and SCLC (T3N1M0) was hospitalized to receive chemo-radiation therapy. On day 14, the course was complicated by left mastitis associated with febrile neutropenia. Drainage was performed for the left mastitis, and cefepime was initiated. The fever subsided within a few days, but the patient became agitated accompanied by logorrhea. With the exception of mental status, her neurological examination was unremarkable. Due to mild...

Local control and toxicity after magnetic resonance imaging (MR)-guided single fraction lung stereotactic ablative radiotherapy
CONCLUSION: MR-guided SF-SABR delivery to lung tumors on a 0.35 T linac, using repeated breath-holds with automatic beam gating, achieves good tumor control and low toxicity.PMID:37516364 | DOI:10.1016/j.radonc.2023.109823

< sup > 18 < /sup > FFDG PET/MRI combined with chest HRCT in early cancer detection: a retrospective study of 3020 asymptomatic subjects
CONCLUSIONS: [18F]FDG PET/MRI holds great promise for the early detection of non-lung cancers, while it seems insufficient for detecting early-stage lung cancers. Chest HRCT can be complementary to whole-body PET/MRI for early cancer detection.TRIAL REGISTRATION: ChiCTR2200060041. Registered 16 May 2022. Perfluoro-tert-butyl Group-Derived Capmatinib: Synthesis, Biological Evaluation and Its Application in 19F Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Chembiochem. 2023 Jun 22:e202300354. doi: 10.1002/cbic.202300354. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTCapmatinib is an FDA approved drug to treat metastatic non-small cell lung cancer with MET-exon 14 skipping. Herein, perfluoro-tert-butyl group, which possesses nine chemically identical fluorine atoms, was introduced on Capmatinib to afford a targeted 19F magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) probe, perfluoro-tert-butyl group-derived Capmatinib (9F-CAP). The 19F MRI concentration limit was found 25 mM in FLASH sequence. The molecular docking simulation, surface plasmon resonance (SPR) (with a Kd of 40.7 μM), half-inhibitory concent...
