Utility of Global Longitudinal Strain by Echocardiography to Detect Left Ventricular Dysfunction in Long-Term Adult Survivors of Childhood Lymphoma and Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
Measuring left ventricular (LV) global longitudinal strain (GLS) is recommended in screening of long-term cancer survivors for cardiotoxicity. However, there are limited data on GLS in this setting, in particular in survivors with apparently normal LV function without risk factors of impaired GLS. In the present study, we measured GLS in 191 adult survivors of childhood lymphoma or acute lymphoblastic leukemia, with normal LV ejection fraction (EF) and fractional shortening (FS), and without known hypertension, diabetes mellitus, myocardial infarction or stroke.

Comorbidities in patients with Primary Sj ögren's Syndrome and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus: A comparative registries‐based study

Elevated Cardiovascular Disease Risk in Patients With Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia Seen in Community-based Oncology Practices in the United States
Conclusion The increased risk of CVD observed in this real-world analysis of CML patients underscores the importance of current NCCN® recommendations to consider CV risk when selecting TKIs. Teaser Guidelines recommend that comorbidities, including CVD, be considered when selecting TKIs for the treatment of CML. An increased risk of CVD and its risk factors in CML patients treated by community-based US oncologists was identified in a real-world analysis of an EMR database (N=1,639). These results underscore the importance of current NCCN® recommendations to consider CV risk when selecting TKIs.

Sporadic Burkitt Lymphoma Mimicking an Adnexal Tumor
A 77-year-old woman, gravida 4, para 4, visited our department because of sudden onset left abdominal dull pain without any aggravating or relieving factor as well as left lower limb numbness, which had occurred for 2 weeks. No changing bowel habit and diarrhea were mentioned. She had diabetes mellitus and hypertension, and had a prior history of two episodes of stroke. She had not undergone prior pelvic surgery or Papanicolaou examination for cervical cancer screen. All previous births were by vaginal delivery.

Conclusion and Outlook This review summarizes the data from major human studies on the health risks of radiation exposure and shows that sex can potentially influence the prolonged response to radiation exposure (Figure 1 and Tables 1, 2). These data suggest that long-term radiosensitivity in females is higher than that in males who receive a comparable dose of radiation. New-onset Post-transplant Diabetes and Therapy in Long-term Survivors After Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation
Conclusion: After allo-HSCT, a significant number of patients developed PTDM and patients with acute graft-versus-host-disease were found to have a higher risk for PTDM. Long-term and continuous follow-up for diabetes and cardiovascular risk factors after HSCT is important in order to be able to provide timely and appropriate treatment.
