The effect of short-term training about depth predicting score on the diagnostic ability of invasion depth for differentiated early gastric Cancer among non-expert endoscopists
The depth-predicting score (DPS) was proposed based on conventional white-light imaging (C-WLI) endoscopic features of early gastric cancer (EGC) to determine the invasion depth of the neoplasm. However, the e...

The in vitro and vivo effects of nuclear and cytosolic parafibromin expression on the aggressive phenotypes of colorectal cancer cells: a search of potential gene therapy target.
Authors: Zheng HC, Liu JJ, Li J, Wu JC, Yang L, Zhao GF, Zhao X, Jiang HM, Huang KQ, Li ZJ Abstract Down-regulated parafibromin is positively linked to the pathogenesis of parathyroid, lung, breast, ovarian, gastric and colorectal cancers. Here, we found that wild-type (WT) parafibromin overexpression suppressed proliferation, tumor growth, induced cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in colorectal cancer cells (p<0.05), but it was the converse for mutant-type (MT, mutation in nucleus localization sequence) parafibromin (p<0.05). Both WT and MT transfectants inhibited migration and invasion, and caused better diff...

Cancers, Vol. 15, Pages 900: Primary Tumor Resection for Metastatic Colorectal, Gastric and Pancreatic Cancer Patients: In Search of Scientific Evidence to Inform Clinical Practice
anluca Masi Giuseppe Aprile The management of the primary tumor in metastatic colorectal, gastric and pancreatic cancer patients may be challenging. Indeed, primary tumor progression could be associated with severe symptoms, compromising the quality of life and the feasibility of effective systemic therapy, and might result in life-threatening complications. While retrospective series have suggested that surgery on the primary tumor may confer a survival advantage even in asymptomatic patients, randomized trials seem not to definitively support this hypothesis. We discuss the evidence for and against primary tumor re...

Application of laparoscopic and open gastrectomy in enhanced recovery after surgery for gastric cancer: analysis of data from multiple centers in China
CONCLUSION: Compared with open surgery, laparoscopic surgery in ERAS can shorten the time to ambulation, first flatus, defecation, and oral intake and the length of hospital stay. Laparoscopic surgery can achieve the same oncological outcomes as open surgery without increasing postoperative complications.PMID:35012915 | PMC:PMC8752419 | DOI:10.12122/j.issn.1673-4254.2021.12.11
