Veterans, the GI Bill (Ch 30 and 33), and Vocational Rehabilitation (Ch 31)
If you are a veteran, this pertains to you, and if not you for whatever reason, likely someone you have served with/know, and will be good to pass on. I have seen information posted within threads about Ch 31 benefits, or Vocational Rehabilitation (Voc Rehab for short), as well as both GI Bills, but some are a few years old, dated, or a quick mention as a subtopic for other situations, in which you have to read to get snippets of info about it. This thread is intended to be the topic, and... Veterans, the GI Bill (Ch 30 and 33), and Vocational Rehabilitation (Ch 31) (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Good jobs for undergrad OT students?
Hi there, So my major in undergrad is designed to prepare me for Occupational Therapy school. I currently work in a research lab that studies gait after bariatric surgery and general motor development, but I don't get paid. I would really like to have a job that is relevant to rehabilitation. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

2.2 cGPA weighed against other credentials for DPT/MSPO
Hello everyone, I'm a 2014 graduate of a 4 year school and I have had a pretty tumultuous last couple years. I've been working in rehabilitation (namely physical therapy, with some exposure to prosthetics) and really think I can be successful and happy in this field. Unfortunately, I graduated with a 2.230 cumulative GPA with 183/213 earned credits, due to untreated symptoms of depression and anxiety and being involved with someone who made me question my self-esteem, motivations and... 2.2 cGPA weighed against other credentials for DPT/MSPO (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Shadowing Ettiquete
So I have finally located a physician who has agreed to let me shadow him. He is a pain management and rehabilitation/ sports medicine physician. My question is what am I supposed to be doing while shadowing? Stand in the shadows or talking to the patient and physician? I doubt I should take notes as it probably wouldn't look right to the patient. I have never shadowed anyone so I don't know the rules, what I should be looking for, looking at etc.... Any help. Thank you all. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Volunteering at a Physical Therapy
by Percival B (Posted Mon Jun 16, 2014 7:46 am)Yes, I think it is interesting if you explain that why you did it is to get a sense of the big picture for rehabilitation of patients after they are discharged from the hospital. In other words, shows that you care about the long-term outcome, as opposed to having merely fulfilled a certain clinical function, then making the patient "someone else's problem". And there is some advantage in that given that it would not have occurred to most premeds to look into it (Source: Med Student Guide)

UKCAT 697.5 but where to apply!?
Hi guys! So I am a graduate applicant (Graduated in 2010) with a 2:1 in Biochem and I took my UKCAT last week and got a 697.5 average. I don't want to sound ungrateful because I've taken the UKCAT before (got 660 average) and know how sad I felt when people didn't seem that impressed with higher marks. BUT I want to apply to Graduate courses and had my heart set on Barts (for personal reasons, staying in London would be best for me) but their cut off last year was 705 average :o should I risk it? Thinking about it is driving me crazy! Also I took my A-levels in 3 years (so this crosses a lot of uni's out) but I have pl...
