EMT or Drug Rehab Clinic?
So...after my post last week of quiting my horrable Job i have 2 more options lined up. The first, actualy using my EMT certification and working for an ambulance company, but it would be like 99% just interhospital transfers, its not a first responder. Second option, a tech at a drug rehabilitation clinic. From a "getting into med school" stand point what one do u think would be more valuable. The drug rehab sounds kinda cool cause u actualy get long term interaction with patients...... EMT or Drug Rehab Clinic? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Military/working dog PT
Hi! I'm a 2nd year DPT student very interested in canine rehabilitation. I had heard that there are PTs working at the VA and directly for Army/Air Force/Navy, etc. who rehab the service dogs. Does anyone know anything about this very niche area of canine PT? Specifically - what are the locations where this occurs? How do you get that literal dream job? I have browsed through the canine PT forums and haven't found anything on this niche specialty, so I'm hoping someone out there might... Military/working dog PT (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Paid vs Unpaid Clinical Experience
By the time I apply I should have close to 1000 hours of /paid/ clinical experience, but I don’t really have any unpaid clinical work unless volunteering at a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center counts... however, I do have a lot of non-clinical volunteer work (600+ hours). Is the lack of unpaid clinical work going to hurt me? I’ve received a lot of mixed answers. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Non-clinical Volunteering
So I've just started volunteering at a rehabilitation center, where I typically play cards with elderly patients there and at an Alzheimer's home where I do similar things. Would these both be considered non-clinical volunteering? If not then what kinds of non-clinical volunteering should I be looking for? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Application Strength ? With Poll!
I am currently in the process of applying... and am incredibly nervous about getting in. There are about 9 potential schools I'd like to apply to and feel I have quite a variety. I am passionate about pursuing OTD. However, I'm not sure how strongly my stats compare for typical programs. I'd like some insight and opinions. I quite my job to get more observation hours within the field (pediatric cancer rehabilitation, further geriatric hours, and elementary setting). My top choice would be... Application Strength ? Non-surgical Veterinarian
Hello, would anyone be able to tell me what the non-surgical veterinary specialties are? I am interested in becoming a vet, but am not keen on performing surgery. Would it be possible to make a decent living as a vet with the main focus being on physical rehabilitation? I would appreciate any insight. Thank you. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

ATC applying to PT school
Hi Everyone. I recently graduated with my Athletic Training degree. During my undergraduate career, I obtained over 1200 hours of experience working directly with patients to treat and rehabilitate their various injuries. This unfortunately doesn't count as "PT" experience. What is the best way to discuss my experiences on my application? So far I'm not seeing a great place to do this. (Source: Student Doctor Network)
