Van Fidel's MCAT biology review podcast
Does anyone know how reliable this information is and how effective it would be to use? He seems fairly clear for most things. I'm studying for the MCAT coming up in January and starting a bit of content review now. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using SDN mobile (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Podcast teaching business fundamentals for dentists
I'm starting a podcast about overcoming student loans, becoming a practice owner and running a business. What are topics you'd like to hear about? What is stressing you out? How soon do you plan on owning a dental practice (if ever) and what is holding you back/making you want to delay? I just finished the first draft of my website, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post it here. I love SDN and don't want to burn any bridges. Sent from my iPhone using... Podcasts or Audio to review for the MCAT
Hi all, I apologize in advance if this is in the wrong area (please let me know where to move it if it is) but I was wondering if anyone has used podcasts or audio to review for the MCAT? It obviously won't be my primary study material, but I work a few hours a week and data entry in a lab is pretty dull. I thought it might be useful to listen to some review will I work. Any suggestions? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

What to read before PGY1?
Hey y'all! I know everyone says not to worry about studying and to just travel and relax for the rest of MS4 year, but I feel like I've lost a lot of knowledge and I AM going to be taking care of other people's children come July, so I'd love to know if there's anything I could read/podcasts to listen to/things to brush up on before intern year starts that'll help. I'm talking a chapter while I'm waiting at the airport, or a 20 minute podcast episode while I'm driving someplace, just so I... What to read before PGY1? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Podcasts and/or audio lectures to listen to during commute?
I start PTA school in August and I have a 2hour 10 minute round trip commute (on a good day) that I will be making by driving my own car, presumably alone. Since public transportation is not an option, I cannot use this time to read texts or review notes so I'm looking for podcasts or audio lectures that would make the drive as productive as possible. Please share any PT(A) related podcasts, audio lectures, etc you might recommend for such a situation. Even videos on YouTube can be... Podcasts and/or audio lectures to listen to during commute? Not sure how to do better on M1 class exams
I am currently a M1, and I consistently score a few points below or just at the class mean. My school ranks students, and I rank in the upper end of the bottom half. For exams, I listen to lectures via podcasts. I make ANKI cards of the material right away form my notes. I study daily. I do sleep 7 hours a day still, and I workout 3 times a week for two hours (powerlifting is my hobby). I listen to pathoma, and I read Guyton, if I don't understand something in physiology from class. I read... Not sure how to do better on M1 class exams (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Educational Resources
So the inservice is done and we now have our marching orders for the next year. It's been a while since there was a concerted conversation on what resources everyone uses. The big three texts have been recently updated, anyone use them and how? Any other textbooks? How do you all learn radiology, EKG? Question banks? In-service prep? Other books? Blogs, Podcasts, Websites? While i always appreciate the color commentary that comes in this forum could you post the resource, how you use... Educational Resources (Source: Student Doctor Network)

OncoCyte - The liquid biopsy
Was listening on the radio the other day to an interview of William Annett, the CEO of this new biotech company that just went public last week. They focus in non-invasive cancer diagnostics using the “liquid biopsy” i.e. blood/urine. They purport this as a means of confirming lung cancer in pts being screened by LDCT w/ inconclusive results instead of getting a bx. via detection of mRNA expression in malignant cells. Here’s their website and podcast of the CEO’s... OncoCyte - The liquid biopsy (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Please help! Blogger attacks doctors & nurses.
by ladymadonna32 (Posted Fri Mar 04, 2016 7:39 pm)I am a labor and delivery nurse, I like listening to podcasts, and I generally don't like confrontation. But I can't STAND it when people with no clue what it means to work in healthcare attack my profession.Economist blogger Matt Bruenig was recently a guest on the Slate podcast The Gist. During his interview, Bruenig made comments about how simple it would be to lower the costs of U.S. healthcare by freezing and ultimately lowering reimbursement rates. "Simply by freezing those payments, because the economy is going to grow, it will shrink. Right? It's relative size will ...
