Zuku vs Vetprep / navle study tools!
Hi everyone, I will be starting my rotations in may and taking the navle in november (ekkkkk). My school will pay for either zuku or vetprep for us to use to study. The last thread about this was many years ago, and I was curious if anything changed. My general understanding is either is fine. Zuku has more pictures, Vetprep more realistic test questions. Please let me know your thoughts. Also I like to have all different mediums for learning like podcasts, games (kahoot), youtube... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Over-ear headphones for interviews?
I've been wearing over ear headphones for my interviews as I have a nice setup from my podcasting days in college, I'm worried I shot myself in the foot. Thoughts? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Exposed podcast … would you still apply to Columbia?
Just finished listening to the Exposed podcast about the coverup of sexual abuse by Columbia physician Robert Hadden. It sounds like the coverup goes all the way to the top, involving Mary D’Alton, who remains chair of OB/GYN. Does that make anyone hesitant to apply there? I’m not at that point yet, but idk if I would feel good about going somewhere with a culture that would keep that kind of person in power. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Dr. Death (again)
Nothing new here. But I just watched the re-enactment of the podcast staring Alec Baldwin and Christian Slater. It was very good and I encourage you all to watch. It is such a fascinating story that leaves the listener/watcher with so many questions. The podcast was not fresh on my mind since I had listened to it years ago. But my own take - it was the drugs couple with narcissism, sprinkled with Dunning- Kruger. Interesting but in the show, a co-medical student said he was the... ROCR / Beckta Podcast
So is ASTRO. Anyone listen to the latest Beckta ROCR podcast? Bru-tal. ROCR cannot be developed with hidden info and secretive measures by ASTRO leadership. ROCR requires total transparency, level playing field (no more exempt stuff) and site neutral care. Hint: Trying to beat the AHA and Major Academic Centers feasting on Protons is about as likely as you winning the Powerball homie Connie Mantz, nice guy, but dude.. its time to step up to the microphone and speak clearly. Payment Processing Fees
I just listened to this podcast on white coat investor and found out that there are companies that "facilitate" electronic payments to physicians but unlike Visa or Mastercard that take 1-3% or so from merchants, these guys are taking up to 16% before the money even gets to your office. I also found out that the insurers use ghost codes to decrease "payments" to people who don't provide sedation (such as family doctors) which gives them justification to decrease payments to... Helpful videos/podcasts for Orthopedic Surgery applications!

Common Sense Oncology
Simul and I hosted Aaron Goodman and Chris Booth on The Accelerators Podcast. They created Common Sense Oncology. If you have not heard, this is a new organization seeking to instill "common sense" back in to oncology by impacting evidence creation, evidence interpretation, and evidence communication. They have a Lancet publication and a lot of information at the link. On the show, we talk about how it can be hard to be critical of mainstream oncology and some of the issues driving... What is your rich life like?
I guess I’ve been listening to Ramit Sethi podcasts quite a bit recently and have been attempting introspection to understand the kind of life i want to build in the future. So, to everyone out there, what would your rich life look like? What do you really want out of your life? I’ll try to go first, my thoughts are a rudimentary work in progress right now. My rich life would ironically consist of some sort of work i think. Maybe 10-15 hours per week. It won’t be something that has set... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
