The associations of physical parameters with the Closed Kinetic Chain Upper Extremity Stability Test, the Upper Quarter Y Balance Test, and the Upper Limb Rotation Test in professional overhead athletes
CONCLUSIONS: Many of the physical parameters influencing scores on the CKCUEST and the YBT-UQ are different. Common parameters influence the CKCUEST and ULRT scores, yet more parameters influence the CKCUEST score. We suggest the combined use of the CKCUEST and the YBT-UQ in overhead athletes.PMID:38642438 | DOI:10.1016/j.ptsp.2024.03.001 (Source: Physical Therapy)

Treatment of shoulder impingement syndrome: a survey of physical therapists in Saudi Arabia
CONCLUSIONS: Overall, physical therapists in Saudi Arabia followed the CPGs for treating SIS. Therapeutic exercises combined with manual therapy were the most common treatment options. However, further research should consider exploring adherence to such guidelines over time.PMID:38639502 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202404_35891 (Source: Pharmacological Reviews)

Assessment of description and implementation fidelity of clinical trials involving exercise-based treatment in individuals with rotator cuff tears: a scoping review
CONCLUSION: Exercise-based interventions used in studies for individuals with rotator cuff tears are poorly reported. The description and fidelity of the intervention need to be better reported to assist clinical decision-making and support evidence-based practice.PMID:38640642 | DOI:10.1016/j.bjpt.2024.101062 (Source: Physical Therapy)

Assessment of Gender Differences in Letters of Recommendation for Physical Therapy Residency Applications
CONCLUSION: Gender differences in LORs for physical therapy residencies were found using a comprehensive Natural Language Processing approach that identified both a positive recommendation male applicant gender bias and a positive interpersonal relationship skill female applicant gender bias. Applicants were not harmed nor helped by selecting LOR writers of the opposite gender. Admissions committees and LOR writers should be mindful of potential implicit gender biases in LOR submitted to physical therapy residency programs.PMID:38640081 | DOI:10.1097/JTE.0000000000000337 (Source: Physical Therapy)
