PTCAS Essay Prompt
Hi all! I know size isn't all that matters, but I'm trying to get a general idea of how long these essays are typically expected to be. I see the limit is 4500 words; does this mean they want it to be close to that? Explaining everything about my situation without being overly verbose, I don't think I'll even hit half of that. Has anyone done the essay and remember their general word count? Thanks! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Anyone else scared?
Because PTCAS opened today…like I know I’m a decent applicant but since PTCAS opened today it feels very real. All I can think about is what if I don’t get in anywhere [emoji854] (Source: Student Doctor Network)

PTCAS References
Hello! This is my first cycle applying to programs, and PTCAS has changed the reference letter location for this cycle. It is now under the program materials section and states the following: "Once you have saved an electronic reference, an email request will automatically be sent to the referer on your behalf. Please advise your referer to look for this email in their inbox, as well as their spam or junk-mail folder, as emails do occasionally get filtered out. Please note: All references... How should I manage my applications this summer?
Hi everyone, As the title states, Im not sure how I should manage my summer with apps coming this cycle. I am currently working as an acute PT Tech at a very large hospital with a very supportive manager that will also help me obtain observation hours in other clinics. My current issue is that I work 4 days a week ~30 hours and I am about to retake A&P 1 and A&P 2 in a 5 week summer format. I wanted to retake the GRE (~155V ~153Q) before I submitted my applications or close to it, but now... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Should I retake the GRE?
I’m applying to PT school this cycle and am worried about my GRE score. I have a 3.84 GPA, nearly 200 observation/volunteer hours between outpatient, inpatient and pediatrics, and three letters of rec. I got a 296 on the GRE and am debating about retaking it. Only 2-3 out of the 10 programs I’m planning on applying to require it, so I’m wondering if it would be worth it. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Western University DPT-OR 2025
Hey! I was a late admit to WesternU's DPT program in Lebanon, Oregon. I am posting to hopefully get in contact with anyone else that was admitted. I also am moving out there from Illinois and am in need of a roommate or housing options. Let me know if you have any ideas! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Any insight on the following programs?
Hi all, I was accepted to a couple PT programs this cycle and have narrowed down my list for programs I’m considering attending, down to two. The two programs are Marymount U and Franklin Pierce NH. A little background info on me is that I’m from New England so Franklin pierce is closer to me (2 and a half hour drive) vs Marymount (5 hour drive) I have not been a full time student in about 5 years so I know getting back into the groove will be difficult but with the maturity I’ve gained... Wash U vs Duke
Hello everyone! I really really need your advice. I am an international student who received acceptance from Wash U and Duke DPT. I know both of the schools are top schools and have outstanding student outcomes. As an international student, I not only care about school things but a lot about living conditions. Regarding Wash U, I think the only problems that I am concerned about are the public safety issues (the most dangerous cities in the US? sounds stupid, but there are huge... Extra debt worth it? Or risk it and reapply?
Hello, so it’s my first time applying to PT schools, my stats are not amazing but I’ve been trying to work on them and wasn’t expecting to get into any programs this cycle but wanted to try anyways. As it has been for most people, it was hard to improve my stats during Covid, especially where I live now, in San Francisco where we still have pretty strict Covid rules. Anyways, I ended up getting in to 2 schools West Coast University & off the waitlist for Western University, and on the... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

How many programs should I be applying to as an "average" applicant?
I'm applying during the 2022-23 cycle, and I'm starting to get more stressed as summer approaches. After reading several threads on here, I feel as though most people typically apply to an upwards of 10 schools and I'm not sure if I want to take that route. There are four programs I'm looking to apply to... but now that it's getting closer I'm second guessing if I should be looking into applying to more. My GPA is certainly on the average, if not lower side- I've tried to make up for it with... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

ptcas entry
A few questions for those of you who have already applied: -Do you have to send official AP score reports to PTCAS? -Is sending official GRE score reports and transcripts to PTCAS sufficient, or do you have to send them individually to each program? -Is entering your courses and grades manually better, or did you pay PTCAS? thank you so much in advance! Fresno State vs. APU DPT programs
These are the schools I'm deciding between! I just wanted to hear what other people's thoughts were on these programs without cost being a major influence on where I attend, at least in this discussion (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Resume/CV for DPT
Hi all! So a few of the programs are requesting a resume and I'm not exactly sure what is appropriate to put on it. I have been a PT tech for the last year, however, all my years of job experience before this were unrelated (primarily bartending). Do I put this on my resume or leave it off? What else can I put in place? (Source: Student Doctor Network)
