Peach Yogurt Panna Cotta
Here’s another panna cotta recipe but using yogurt to provide some probiotic effect, as well as a rich taste and mouthfeel. Peaches are just coming into season right now, so it’s a great time to start including in recipes. Choose full-fat yogurt, organic whenever possible, that is unflavored and unsweetened. You could also make your own high-fat yogurt from the Wheat Belly recipe here. Despite containing peach with around 9 grams net carbs each, the carbs of the one peach are distributed into 4 servings, yielding a net carb content of 10 grams per serving, safely under our limit of 15 grams. Because there is no a...

Congratulations you are at the beginning of your third trimester. “Babies weigh about 2.2 pounds by the start of the third trimester. They can blink their eyes, which now sport lashes. And their wrinkled skin is starting to smooth out as they put on baby fat. They’re also developing fingernails, toenails, and real hair (or at least some peach fuzz), and adding billions of neurons to their brain. Your blossoming baby will spend his or her final weeks in utero putting on weight.” Week 28 This week your baby is settling into the proper position for birth, with his/her head facing downward. He/she is also busy adding n...

"The Rest of the StorySenator Hoylman ' s position is based on " alternative facts, " or what prior to 2016 would have more simply been called a " lie. Minimally Invasive Surgery Congress 2017: A Quick Summary

Both cautious and enthusiastic outlooks of increased technology use in surgery were debated by participants—some advocated for a conservative balancing of costs to benefits in the short-term, others for embracing the digital revolution enthusiastically. “Virtual surgeon” and popular futurist Shafi Ahmed perhaps put it best: ...

Positive Animal Trial Results for Reversible Male Contraceptive
Researchers at the University of California have published positive results of a trial in rhesus monkeys for Vasalgel, a long-term, reversible, non-hormonal male contraceptive injection. Vasalgel is injected in a similar manner to the no-scalpel vasectomy. In a vasectomy, the vas deferens, a small tube transporting sperm from the testes, is cut and results in sterilization. Vasalgel is instead injected into the lumen of the vas deferens where the gel forms a blockage that does not allow sperm to penetrate. The temporary reduction in sperm count can then be reversed after months or years with a separate injection that dis...

Lying for Money: Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids Solicitation is Fundamentally Dishonest
This Monday, the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids sent out a solicitation for donations that stated:" The tobacco industry spends $9.1 billion a year on marketing in the U.S. alone. That ' s over $1 million every hour! And much of it is aimed at kids. The industry needs kids as " replacements " for the nearly half a million Americans killed by smoking each year, and for those who quit. They know that 90% of smokers start as teens or earlier. That ' s why their marketing is geared toward youth. But they ' re not just selling your dad ' s cigarettes or your grandpa ' s cigars anymore. The industry is introducing new products to...
