This is the fifth meeting of the 2015 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee (DGAC). The DGAC will develop an advisory report for the Secretaries of Health and Human Services and of Agriculture. Dr. John Pierce is a professor in the Department of Family and Prevention Medicine at the University of California, San Diego and Director of Population Science at Moores Cancer Center. He helped initiate the world's first statewide tobacco control program in Australia in the early 1980s. He also started the Women's Healthy Living and Eating Project which tested the role of plant-based dietary patterns in preventing recurrence among breast cancer survivors.
