Comparison with surgically resected mucinous cystic neoplasm of pancreas and branch-duct type intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm considering clinico-radiological high-risk features: a reassessment of current guidelines
ConclusionWhile current guidelines may be appropriate for managing BD-IPMNs, our results showed a notably larger optimal threshold size for malignant MCNs than that suggested by current guidelines. This warrants reconsidering existing guideline thresholds for initial risk stratification and management of MCNs. (Source: Abdominal Imaging)

Outcomes in Nonmetastatic Hormone Receptor-Positive HER2-Negative Pure Mucinous Breast Cancer: A Multicenter Cohort Study
CONCLUSIONS: Compared with IDC, PMBC demonstrated superior RFI, RFS, and OS. Lymph node negativity, adjuvant radiotherapy, and endocrine therapy were associated with superior RFI. Adjuvant chemotherapy was not associated with better outcomes.PMID:38744306 | DOI:10.6004/jnccn.2023.7121 (Source: Journal of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network : JNCCN)

Ulcerative colitis-associated neoplasms often harbor poor prognostic histologic components with low detection by biopsy
CONCLUSIONS: This is the first investigation that shows UCANs with a por/sig/muc component tended to be deeply invasive and were often not recognized preoperatively. Endoscopists should be aware that UCAN often has a por/sig/muc component that is not always recognized on biopsy, and the optimal treatment strategy needs to be carefully considered.PMID:38712359 | DOI:10.5217/ir.2024.00006 (Source: Cell Research)

Perioperative management of a patient with unexpectedly detected early-stage ovarian mucinous carcinoma combined with progressive bulbar paralysis: a case report and literature review
Giant ovarian cysts (GOCs)complicated with progressive bulbar paralysis (PBP) are very rare, and no such literature about these cases have been reported. Through the diagnosis and treatment of this case, the p... (Source: BMC Women's Health)

Pathophysiological Implications of Protein Lactylation in Pancreatic Epithelial Tumors
Acta Histochem Cytochem. 2024 Apr 25;57(2):57-66. doi: 10.1267/ahc.24-00010. Epub 2024 Apr 4.ABSTRACTProtein lactylation is a post-translational modification associated with glycolysis. Although recent evidence indicates that protein lactylation is involved in epigenetic gene regulation, its pathophysiological significance remains unclear, particularly in neoplasms. Herein, we investigated the potential involvement of protein lactylation in the molecular mechanisms underlying benign and malignant pancreatic epithelial tumors, as well as its role in the response of pancreatic cancer (PC) cells to gemcitabine. Increased lact...
