Work place and prevalence of COVID-19 in a rural population in Greece
CONCLUSION: The study presents data showing a high prevalence of herd immunity for COVID-19 in a semi-closed area in Greece. These findings might help to understand the characteristics of this second wave, the behaviour and danger of SARS-CoV-2 in rural areas in Greece and Europe generally.PMID:35853536 | DOI:10.22605/RRH6751 (Source: Rural Remote Health)

IJERPH, Vol. 19, Pages 7691: Prevalence and Associated Factors of Physical Activity among Medical Students from the Western Balkans
vić The student population includes young adults who need nutrition and regular physical activity (PA) for mental, cognitive, and physical development. It is estimated that, globally, only 25–40% of the university student population is involved in regular PA. To date, no research has been conducted in the Western Balkans to address the PA of medical students. The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence and factors influencing PA among medical students from the Western Balkans. A cross-sectional study included 2452 students from 14 medical faculties in five countries (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia...

Influence of genetic substructuring of statistical forensic parameters on genetic short tandem repeat markers in the populations of Southeastern Europe
CONCLUSION: The comparison of forensic parameters between different subpopulations of Croatia and Southeast Europe indicates that the isolation of individual Croatian subpopulations and rare alleles in their gene pool affect the values of forensic parameters. Specific features of (sub)populations should be taken into account for appropriate sampling of the total population when creating a DNA database of STR markers.PMID:35722693 (Source: Croatian Medical Journal)
