Benign endobronchial lipoma causing repeated pneumonia
Endobronchial lipomas are rare; nonetheless, physicians should consider them as a differential diagnosis in patients with repeated pneumonia. In this case, the patient's cough was ameliorated after undergoing a right basal segmentectomy. Key messageEndobronchial lipomas are rare; nonetheless, physicians should consider them as a differential diagnosis in patients with repeated pneumonia. Computed tomography and bronchoscopy are recommended for diagnosis. In this case, the patient's cough was ameliorated after undergoing a right basal segmentectomy. (Source: Respirology Case Reports)

Lipoma of the gastrointestinal tract: a tertiary care centre experience
CONCLUSIONS: While GI lipomas are generally considered to be indolent and benign tumours, they can potentially lead to severe complications. The utilisation of computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging has brought about a significant transformation in diagnosing this condition, enabling preoperative identification in most cases. The surgery offers a definitive treatment with minimal risk of postoperative complications.PMID:37823391 | DOI:10.1308/rcsann.2023.0063 (Source: Annals of the Royal College of Surgeons of England)

Contrast-enhanced ultrasound reveals perfusion differences between benign lipoma and semi-malignant atypical lipomatous tumors: A prospective clinical study
CONCLUSION: CEUS may enhance the differential diagnosis of benign lipomas and ALTs, with ALTs showing higher levels of perfusion. If larger prospective studies confirm these findings, CEUS could enhance diagnostic accuracy, guide surgical planning, and potentially reduce unnecessary treatments for patients presenting with ambiguous lipomatous tumors like lipoma or ALT.
