Exposure –Response Efficacy Modeling to Support Trofinetide Dosing in Individuals with Rett Syndrome
ConclusionE –R efficacy modeling demonstrated significant relationships between trofinetide exposure and RSBQ, CSBS-DP-IT Social Composite, and RTT-COMC scores. Trofinetide is efficacious within the target exposure range, supporting the approved dosing regimen for trofinetide.Trial RegistrationNCT01703533, NCT02715115, NCT04181723. Lavandula multifida as a novel eco-friendly fluorescent-blue material for mercury ions sensing in seawater at femto-molar concentration
Chemosphere. 2024 Feb 10:141409. doi: 10.1016/j.chemosphere.2024.141409. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTIn this paper, we present a novel fluorescent material based on the herbal tea of Lavandula multifida (Lm). The fluorescence properties of Lm aqueous extract were analyzed under various excitation wavelengths in the range of 290-450 nm. The Lm herbal infusion was found to be highly fluorescent, with an emission maximum at 450 nm under excitation at 390 nm. Consequently, it was exploited to develop a fluorescence method for detecting metal ions. Results obtained upon the addition of Hg2+, Na+, K+, Ca2+, Mg2+, Pb2+, Cd2+, C...

Forced-choice lavender discrimination in Parkinson's disease
Although olfactory deficits are widely acknowledged in Parkinson's disease (PD), a growing literature perhaps paradoxically purports to demonstrate potential sedative and anxiolytic effects of scent of lavender in neurodegenerative disease [1]. Although clinical studies demonstrating such effects have varied widely in quality and patient populations investigated and none have used PD patients exclusively, some trials report on dementia cases likely to include synucleinopathies [2 –5]. Additionally, some studies support a beneficial role of lavender oil for dopamine toxicity in vitro [6]. (Source: Parkinsonism and Related Disorders)

Questioning approaches to consent in time critical obstetric trials: findings from a mixed-methods study
Conclusions Findings support the use of RWPC for time-critical interventions, and raise questions about the appropriateness of other commonly used consent pathways, including antenatal consent and verbal assent. (Source: BMJ Open)
