Blood consumption in the Role 2 setting: A Department of Defense Trauma Registry analysis
CONCLUSIONS: We described volumes of blood products consumed at the Role 2 during recent conflicts. The maximum number of units consumed among survivors exceeds currently recommended available blood supply. Performance of far forward iceless blood storage containers in controlled cold environments
CONCLUSION: The GHB, when properly preconditioned, effectively maintains internal temperatures suitable for blood product transport in extreme cold. A survey of low titer O whole blood use within the trauma quality improvement program registry
CONCLUSIONS: There was an increase in the number of facilities transfusing LTOWB between 2020 and 2021. The use of LTOWB is underutilized in children at centers that have it available. Successful treatment pure red cell aplasia after ABO major mismatched allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation with avatrombopag and low dose rituximab
CONCLUSION: Low-dose rituximab and avatrombopag may be an effective treatment for patients with PRCA after major ABO-incompatible allo-HSCT. The impact of blood donation deferral strategies on the eligibility of men who have sex with men and other sexual risk behavior in Australia
DISCUSSION: Changing the deferral criteria and sexual risk evaluation would lead to a higher proportion of GBM being eligible to donate blood. Knowledge of the current GBM deferral period is very low. The safety of ABO minor incompatible platelets transfusions using a rapid infuser
CONCLUSION: Our study suggested that mixing ABO-incompatible platelets with RBCs in a rapid infuser does not induce in vitro hemolysis.
