Gut microbiome affects the response to immunotherapy in non ‐small cell lung cancer
ConclusionThe findings of the present study indicated that the diversity of gut microbiota and SCFAs is related to the efficacy of immunotherapy. FMT can effectively delay tumor progression, and enhance the effect of immunotherapy, thus providing evidence for improving the efficacy of immunotherapy in NSCLC patients. (Source: Thoracic Cancer)

Surgery challenges and postoperative complications of lung cancer after neoadjuvant immunotherapy
ConclusionsCompared to immunotherapy alone or in combination with apatinib, neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy could increase the difficulty of surgery while the incidence of postoperative complications remained acceptable. The conversion to open surgery and pneumonectomy after neoadjuvant immunotherapy should be reduced. (Source: Thoracic Cancer)

Considerations for multidisciplinary management of synchronous primary breast cancer and primary lung cancer – Analysis of thirty‐one patients
ConclusionRoutine chest CT is needed for breast cancer patients before surgery, and PET-CT is required for the accurate staging of lung cancer patients. A multidisciplinary expert team should manage synchronous primary breast cancer and primary lung cancer. Emphasis should be placed on patients who need preoperative treatment before surgery. Particularly, for patients who need preoperative chemotherapy, a regimen should be chosen that balances the treatment of lung cancer and breast cancer. (Source: Thoracic Cancer)

Personalized, tumor ‐informed, circulating tumor DNA assay for detecting minimal residual disease in non‐small cell lung cancer patients receiving curative treatments
ConclusionOur real-world data indicate that longitudinal, personalized, tumor-informed ctDNA monitoring is a valuable tool in patients with NSCLC receiving curative treatment to identify patients at high risk for recurrence. (Source: Thoracic Cancer)

Identification of a risk score model based on tertiary lymphoid structure ‐related genes for predicting immunotherapy efficacy in non‐small cell lung cancer
ConclusionsOur data suggested a pivotal role of TLSs formation in survival outcome and immunotherapy response of NSCLC patients. Tumors with mature TLS formation showed more activated immune microenvironment. In addition, the model constructed by TLS-related genes could predict the response to immunotherapy and is meaningful for clinical decision-making. (Source: Thoracic Cancer)

Circ ‐POSTN promotes the progression and reduces radiosensitivity in esophageal cancer by regulating the miR‐876‐5p/FYN axis
ConclusionCirc-POSTN knockdown inhibited proliferation and invasion, but increased apoptosis and enhanced radiosensitivity in EC cells via modulating miR-876-5p/FYN axis, which might be a potential diagnostic and therapeutic target for EC. (Source: Thoracic Cancer)

Clinical significance of postoperative folate receptor ‐positive circulating tumor cells (FR + CTCs) for long‐term prognosis in patients with invasive adenocarcinoma (IAC) of the lung
ConclusionThe detection of FR  + CTCs postoperatively was an independent predictor of recurrence in patients treated for stage I–III IAC. Standardized detection methods and optimal time points for assessment should be established in future studies. (Source: Thoracic Cancer)

A component of high ‐grade fetal lung adenocarcinoma diagnosed as the cause of lymph node metastasis
In this report, we describe a case in which 15% of the adenocarcinoma components were H-FLAC diagnosed as the cause of lymph node metastasis. A 75-year-old man presented with suspected primary lung cancer (clinical stage IIA, T2bN0M0) and underwent left upper lobectomy and superior mediastinal lymph node dissection. Postoperative histopathology revealed lung cancer with only lobar bronchial lymph node (#11) metastasis. Approximately 60% of the invasive adenocarcinoma showed a papillary morphology, 25% showed a lepidic morphology, and 15% showed a fetal morphology. The histomorphological and immunohistological features of #...

Anaplastic large cell lymphoma with ALK::ATIC fusion mimicking a histiocytic sarcoma debuting as an anterior thoracic soft tissue tumor with exceptional clinicopathological, morphological and molecular features
AbstractA 56-year-old woman debuted with a palpable painless mass in the anterior thorax wall at the level of the second and third right parasternal intercostal space, which progressively increased in size over 5  months accompanied by localized skin rash, mild dyspnea and chest pain when changing position. Imaging studies showed a soft tissue mass measuring 75 × 62 mm and a density of 34 Hounsfield Units that had caused the lysis of the costal arches and grew expansively towards the anterior medias tinum, without identifying mediastinal adenopathies only by this imaging method. Core biopsy was performed, which wa...
