Computed tomography imaging and clinical characteristics of pulmonary ground ‐glass nodules ≤2 cm with micropapillary pattern
ConclusionmGGNs ≤2 cm with a micropapillary pattern have a higher risk of lymph node metastasis compared with SNs, and computed tomography (CT) imaging features can assist in their diagnosis. (Source: Thoracic Cancer)

Safety and efficacy of amrubicin with primary prophylactic pegfilgrastim as second ‐line chemotherapy in patients with small cell lung cancer
ConclusionsAMR with P-PEG as second-line chemotherapy for SCLC reduced the incidence of FN at a maintained AMR dose intensity and was associated with favorable tumor responses and survival outcomes. P-PEG should be considered for patients treated with AMR for SCLC including refractory relapsed SCLC. (Source: Thoracic Cancer)

Clinical characteristics and treatment outcomes of HER2 mutation and HER2 fusion in 22 patients with advanced breast cancer
ConclusionOur data demonstrated the clinical benefit of anti-HER2 treatment in Chinese breast cancer patients harboring HER2 mutation and/or HER2 fusion. The value of immunotherapy and treatment selection among individual HER2 variants needs further study. (Source: Thoracic Cancer)

Three ‐dimensional lung reconstructions for the localization of lung nodules to be resected during surgery
ConclusionsOur 3D lung reconstruction model for use in the operating room may be an additional tool for thoracic surgeons to guide the detection of small and deep nodules during thoracoscopy. It is a noninvasive and cost saving procedure and may be widely used. (Source: Thoracic Cancer)

Dosimetric comparison of five different radiotherapy treatment planning approaches for locally advanced non ‐small cell lung cancer with sequential plan changes
ConclusionThe IMRT/VMAT hybrid technique for LA-NSCLC patients improved target CI and reduced lung doses. Furthermore, if IMRT was not available initially, starting with 3DCRT might be beneficial as demonstrated in the bVMAT procedure of this study. (Source: Thoracic Cancer)

First case report of erlotinib plus ramucirumab treatment for lung carcinosarcoma with EGFR L858R mutation
In this study, we report the case of a 73-year-old female patient diagnosed with postoperative recurrence of lung carcinosarcoma. The resected tumor was diagnosed as lung carcinosarcoma, and genetic testing revealed the presence of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) exon21 L858R. Approximately 2  years postoperatively, the tumor recurred and the patient was treated with erlotinib plus ramucirumab, which were effective in controlling metastatic disease. Erlotinib plus ramucirumab is therefore a treatment option forEGFR mutation-positive lung carcinosarcoma. (Source: Thoracic Cancer)

Evaluation of pain levels treated by the distal end of the hook ‐wire positioning needle: A randomized controlled study
ConclusionsWe found both approaches for handling the hook-wire extending outside the chest to be safe and effective. However, cutting off the hook-wire extending outside the chest is associated with lesser pain. Moreover, pain severity does not worsen with time after localization. (Source: Thoracic Cancer)

Epidemiological characteristics and therapeutic advances of EGFR exon 20 insertion mutations in non ‐small cell lung cancer
Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) exon 20 insertions (EGFRex20ins), the third most prevalentEGFR mutation in non-small cell lung (NSCLC) cancer, pose a significant clinical challenge due to resistance to conventional treatments. Recent approvals of mobocertinib and amivantamab offer promising therapeutic options. This review summarizes key epidemiological and therapeutic insights, paving the way for improved clinical management of NSCLC patients with EGFRex20ins. AbstractThe third most prevalent type of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation, EGFR exon 20 insertions (EGFRex20ins), involves 2% –12% of all ...
