Segmentectomy quality remains important in ground ‐glass‐dominant stage I lung cancer
ConclusionAnatomical segmentectomy resulted in better survival and a lower incidence of thick lung plication, even in GGO-dominant tumors. Therefore, further standardization and quality management of segmentectomy procedures will improve the clinical outcomes. (Source: Thoracic Cancer)

Kristen rat sarcoma virus (KRAS) G12F ‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer mimicking KRAS G12C positivity: A case report
In this report, we describe a case in which a positive result for Kristen rat sarcoma virus (KRAS) exon2 p.G12F, a rareKRAS mutation, may have led to a false-positive result forKRAS exon2 p.G12C on AMOY. Genetic analysis in this case was performed by LC-SCRUM-Asia. (Source: Thoracic Cancer)

Single ‐cell RNA sequencing reveals immune microenvironment of small cell lung cancer‐associated malignant pleural effusion
We use 10  × genomics single-cell transcriptome sequencing technology to reveal the tumor immune microenvironment characteristics of small cell lung cancer (SCLC) in malignant pleural effusion (MPE). A total of 8008 high-quality cells were obtained and divided as B cells, T cells, myeloid cells, NK cells , and cancer cells (a). Such SCLC related genes as NOTCH1, MYC, TSC22D1, SOX4, BLNK, YBX3, VIM, CD8A, CD8B, and KLF6 were expressed in different degrees during differentiation of CD4+ T cells (b), CD8+ T cells (c), and B cells (d). Different ligands and receptors between T, B, and tumor cells almost interact through M...

Gentiana macrophylla flavonoids from Tibetan medicine decreases circ_0059665 to alleviate the progression of non ‐small cell lung cancer under hypoxia
ConclusionGF treatment in hypoxic environments suppressed NSCLC cell proliferation, invasion and M2 macrophage polarization via the circ_0059665/miR-512-5p/NOVA2 axis. (Source: Thoracic Cancer)

Observed and relative survival trends of lung cancer: A systematic review of population ‐based cancer registration data
ConclusionOver the past decades, the prognosis of lung cancer has gradually improved, but significant variations were also observed globally. Worldwide, a better prognosis of lung cancer can be observed in females and younger patients. It is essential to compare and evaluate the histological or stage-specific survival rates of lung cancer between different regions in the future. (Source: Thoracic Cancer)

Exploring readiness for discharge, quality of discharge teaching, and fear of disease progression in lung cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy: A correlation analysis
ConclusionDischarge readiness among patients with lung cancer receiving chemotherapy was relatively at the good level, and there was a significant correlation between readiness for discharge, discharge teaching and fear of disease progression in these patients. Therefore, it is necessary to provide effective discharge guidance and implement targeted intervention measures to further improve patient preparation, reduce the fear of disease progression, and promote patient ability of coping with the disease and overall satisfaction. Long ‐term follow‐up of unresectable adenoid cystic carcinoma of the trachea and bronchus treated with high‐dose proton beam therapy: A report of two cases
This report showed two cases of unresectable adenoid cystic carcinoma of the trachea and bronchus that received definitive proton beam therapy with concurrent chemotherapy. Proton beam therapy can deliver high doses (74  Gy [relative biological effectiveness]) safely to unresectable adenoid cystic carcinoma tumors and may contribute to long-term local control and overall survival. AbstractAdenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) of the trachea is a rare disease that is slow growing and has a risk of distant metastasis. The standard treatment for ACC of the trachea is surgery, but this tumor is often unresectable. In definitive rad...

Investigation of response of patients with non ‐small cell lung cancer to docetaxel (plus ramucirumab) therapy in second‐line treatment
ConclusionsOur results suggest that DTX and DTX  + RAM therapies immediately after treatment with ICI-containing regimens as well as continuation of DTX without dose reduction after the second cycle may increase the response rate and prolong survival in patients with NSCLC.
