Comparison of the Nutrient Content of Cow’s Milk and Nondairy Milk Alternatives: What’s the Difference?
In conclusion, if the reason for consuming NDMAs is to provide a beverage that is nutritionally similar to cow’s milk for growing children, then only soy is nutritionally similar, and the other NDMAs are not a good substitute. If the goal is a vegan, sugar-free, low-calorie beverage that provides calcium, and total nutrient content is not a major factor, then an unflavored, unsweetened NDMAs may be a good alternative to cow’s milk. What to Do When Doctors Disagree on Diets for Women With Gestational Diabetes
Medical nutrition therapy is considered the cornerstone of treatment for gestational diabetes mellitus, even though there is no consensus on the best dietary approach to achieve optimal glycemic control and positive maternal and fetal outcomes. In this article, we present a case from our clinic of a woman with gestational mellitus, the evidence for the level of macronutrients to include in the diet, and the use of glycemic index for dietary planning. The objective of this cross-sectional study was to investigate the potential association between cost and the nutrition quality among entrées from casual dining restaurants. Nutrition and price information were collected from 11 restaurants in Boston metropolitan area.
