Quality Control of Nitrogen Multiple Breath Washout in a Multicenter Pediatric Asthma Study
Conclusion N2MBW is feasible in a multicenter asthma study in children. However, the quality of this time-consuming procedure is dependent on experience level of staff in preschool children and still requires retrospective overreading for all age groups.

Bilirubin Measurement Through a Smartphone Application in Preterm Infants
Conclusions In this study, we evaluated the feasibility and reliability of a smartphone application for monitoring bilirubin levels in preterm infants. Although BiliScan measurements reported to display high correlation in term infants, a moderate correlation was found in the preterm infants. It is an emerging low-cost, non-invasive alternative for neonatal jaundice monitoring, however, results should be interpreted with caution in preterm infants. Potential Benefit of Probiotic E. Coli Nissle in Term Neonates
Conclusions  A long-term effect after colonising the healthy neonate´s gut with E. coli Nissle to protect against infections could not be shown. Additional studies are needed to confirm a transitory, yet clinically significant role of probiotics in the first four weeks after parturition.

Current German Guidelines on Diagnosis and Treatment of Secondary Hemochromatosis in Patients with Congenital Anemias
Klin Padiatr 2022; 234: 368-373 DOI: 10.1055/a-1925-7345Adequate diagnosis and treatment of secondary hemochromatosis in patients with congenital anemias is important for reducing long-term mortality and morbidity as for improving patients' quality of life. Due to the strong migration movements during recent years, the number of patients in Germany suffering from hemoglobinopathies as some of the most relevant disorders in the context of iron overload (IOL) has increased enormously. Many of these patients had received inadequate medical care in their countries of ...
