Previous and First Detected Cardiovascular Diseases in Patients with New Coronavirus Pneumonia: Possible Mechanisms and Place in a Unified Prognostic Model
Conclusions: The cardiovascular pathology is frequent in patients with COVID-19 and strong correlates with the D-dimer. It indicates the high significance of prothrombotic and ischemic mechanisms. High AHA levels may reflect an inflammatory heart injury. The cardiovascular pathology is associated with higher lethality.Int Arch Allergy Immunol (Source: International Archives of Allergy and Immunology)

The Role of Nasal Endoscopy in Allergic Rhinitis and House Dust Mite Sublingual Immunotherapy
Conclusions: In addition to commonly utilized subjective assessments (TMS, TNSS, and VAS), our results of endoscopic examination and the MLK scores consistently confirmed that SLIT is an effective therapeutic modality for AR patients. The MLK scores might be considered as an auxiliary tool to evaluate efficacy of SLIT in clinical practice and outcomes research.Int Arch Allergy Immunol (Source: International Archives of Allergy and Immunology)

The Immune Responses against Coronavirus Infections: Friend or Foe?
Coronaviruses (CoVs) were first discovered in the 1960s. Severe acute respiratory syndrome CoV-2 (SARS-CoV-2) has been identified as the cause of COVID-19, which spread throughout China and subsequently, across the world. As COVID-19 causes serious public health concerns across the world, investigating the characteristics of SARS-CoV-2 and its interaction with the host immune responses may provide a clearer picture of how the pathogen causes disease in some individuals. Interestingly, SARS-CoV-2 has 80% sequence homology with SARS-CoV-1 and 96 –98% homology with CoVs isolated from bats. Therefore, the experience acquired...

Bee- and Wasp-Venom Sensitization in Schoolchildren of High- and Low-Socioeconomic Status Living in an Urban Area of Indonesia
Conclusions and Clinical Relevance: Sensitization against bee- or wasp-venom is quite prevalent among schoolchildren in Indonesia. The discordance between SPT and sIgE might suggest the direct (non-IgE) effect of venoms in skin reactivity. Recorded sensitizations had poor clinical relevance as they rarely translated into clinical symptoms.Int Arch Allergy Immunol (Source: International Archives of Allergy and Immunology)
