Clinical Features of Wheat Allergy Are Significantly Different between Tri a 14 Sensitized Patients and Tri a 19 Sensitized Ones
Conclusions: Sensitization to Tri a 19 or Tri a 14 determines different clinical pictures. In particular, sensitization to Tri a 19 implies a higher probability of severe reactions, even dependent on daily triggers, while that to Tri a 14 implies a higher cross-reactivity with other foods but it ’s more frequently asymptomatic, making a food challenge necessary to prevent useless food avoidance.Int Arch Allergy Immunol (Source: International Archives of Allergy and Immunology)

Impact of Penicillin Allergy Label on Length of Stay and Mortality in Hospitalized Patients through a Clinical Administrative National Dataset
Conclusion: In our study, the prevalence of a penicillin allergy label in hospitalized patients, using the MBDS, is low. Hospitalizations with an allergy label was associated with a longer LOHS. However, penicillin-allergic patients did not show higher mortality rates. Inaccurate reporting of penicillin allergies may have an impact on healthcare resources.Int Arch Allergy Immunol (Source: International Archives of Allergy and Immunology)

CircRNAPTK2 Promotes Cardiomyocyte Apoptosis in Septic Mice by Competitively Binding to miR-29b-3p with BAK1
Conclusion: CircPTK2 is overexpressed in the myocardium of septic mice. CircPTK2 competitively bound to miR-29b-3p to upregulate BAK1 mRNA level, to promote cardiomyocyte apoptosis, inflammatory response, and myocardial damage of the myocardium of septic mice.Int Arch Allergy Immunol (Source: International Archives of Allergy and Immunology)

Mepolizumab Is an Effective Option in Severe Eosinophilic Asthma Regardless of Baseline Features: Single-Center Real-Life Data
Conclusion: Mepolizumab effectively reduced asthma exacerbations, steroid requirement, blood eosinophil counts and improved asthma control, pulmonary function, sinonasal symptoms and quality of life. Our data suggest that mepolizumab would be effective in selected patients in real-life settings.Int Arch Allergy Immunol (Source: International Archives of Allergy and Immunology)

Predictors of Airway Hyperresponsiveness in Symptomatic Children with Normal Spirometry and Suspicious of Possible Asthma
Conclusion: In children suspected of having asthma, but without an obstructive pattern in the spirometry, combining independent predictors, which can be easily obtained in clinical practice, might be used to identify children with AHR.Int Arch Allergy Immunol (Source: International Archives of Allergy and Immunology)

Food-Induced Anaphylaxis among Children Weighing & #x3c;15 kg: A Single-Center Case Series of the Pediatric Emergency Department
Conclusion: Food-induced anaphylaxis among children weighing #x3c;15 kg occurred as frequently and was as severe as that among children weighing 15 kg or more. However, the proportion of patients prescribed EAIs was very low in children weighing #x3c;15 kg with food-induced anaphylaxis. The potential need for EAIs is suggested among children weighing #x3c;15 kg, especially among children weighing 10 kg or more but #x3c;15 kg.Int Arch Allergy Immunol (Source: International Archives of Allergy and Immunology)

The Effect of COVID-19 Pandemic on the Infants ’ Microbiota and the Probability of Development of Allergic and Autoimmune Diseases
The human microbiota plays a significant role in various mechanisms of the body. The formation of a healthy microbiota, especially in early childhood, has a significant effect on maintaining human health. Since the onset of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the disease has caused many changes in human life. According to the available information, many of these factors affect the composition and diversity of the body ’s microbiota, so this pandemic may alter and disrupt the microbiota and consequently increase the incidence of other diseases such as allergic and autoimmune disorders, especially in children and infants ...
