Fc εRI Cluster Size Determines Effective Mast Cell Desensitization without Effector Responses in vitro
Conclusions: We demonstrate that the optimal size of IgE-Fc εRI clusters for in vitro BMMC desensitization differed significantly depending on allergenicity, and the efficacy of desensitization was reflected by IgE-FcεRI cluster formation. Our study provides information on the characteristics of IgE-FcεRI internalization for successful desensitization in vitro.Int Arch Allergy Immunol (Source: International Archives of Allergy and Immunology)

Low Concentration of Fecal Valeric Acid at 1 Year of Age Is Linked with Eczema and Food Allergy at 13 Years of Age: Findings from a Swedish Birth Cohort
Conclusions: Our findings lend further support to the notion of early childhood as a critical period when allergy may be programmed via the gut microbiota. Higher levels of fecal valeric acid may be characteristic of a protective gut microbiota and/or actively contribute to protection from eczema and food allergy.Int Arch Allergy Immunol (Source: International Archives of Allergy and Immunology)

Tryptase and IL-33 in Bronchoalveolar Lavage Fluid May Predict the Types of Eosinophilic Pneumonia and Disease Recurrence
Conclusions: Tryptase and IL-33 in BALF are useful biomarkers for the assessment of EP types. These biomarkers could be used to predict disease recurrence.Int Arch Allergy Immunol (Source: International Archives of Allergy and Immunology)

Kawasaki Disease and Atopic Diseases: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Observational Studies
Conclusion: KD diagnosed was associated with four common atopic diseases. Among the four allergic diseases, allergic conjunctivitis and asthma have the highest correlation with KD, which may provide a direction for exploring the etiology of KD.Int Arch Allergy Immunol (Source: International Archives of Allergy and Immunology)

Immune Response to SARS-CoV-2 Vaccine in 2 Men
Conclusion: Our data support the need for 2nd dose of vaccine to induce strong SARS-CoV-2 CD8 T-cell specific response and generation of memory subsets of CD4+ and CD8+ T cells. Regulatory lymphocytes appear to play a role in the magnitude of response.Int Arch Allergy Immunol (Source: International Archives of Allergy and Immunology)

PM2.5 Upregulates the Expression of MUC5AC via the EGFR-PI3K Pathway in Human Sinonasal Epithelial Cells
Conclusions and Clinical Relevance: This study demonstrates that short-term PM2.5 exposure increases MUC5AC expression in HNECs. Furthermore, this study shows that PM2.5-induced MUC5AC expression is likely mediated through the EGFR-PI3K pathway.Int Arch Allergy Immunol (Source: International Archives of Allergy and Immunology)

Peanut Component Ara h 1 and 2 Sensitization in Patients with Food Allergy in Kuwait
Conclusions: The pattern of sensitization to peanut proteins in the Middle East is similar to that of the Western world. Measurement of sIgE antibodies to Ara h 1, 2, and 3 is useful in the diagnosis of PA and in the investigation of reactions to raw and roasted peanuts.Int Arch Allergy Immunol (Source: International Archives of Allergy and Immunology)

The Low Maternal Consumption of Homemade Fermented Foods in Pregnancy Is an Additional Risk Factor for Food Protein-Induced Allergic Proctocolitis: A Case-Control Study
Conclusion: Daily maternal consumption of yogurt, cheese, and tarhana during pregnancy was less common in FPIAP. The diversity of traditional Turkish homemade FFs may reduce the risk of FPIAP, whereas maternal smoking and a higher maternal educational status were associated with an increased risk of FPIAP.Int Arch Allergy Immunol (Source: International Archives of Allergy and Immunology)

Enhanced Infiltration of Central Memory T Cells to the Lung Tissue during Allergic Lung Inflammation
In this report, we investigated the differential distribution of memory T-cell subtypes during allergic lung inflammation and the mechanism regulating that. Using an OVA-sensitized asthma mouse model, we observed a significant increase in the frequency of TCM cells in inflamed lungs compared to healthy controls. Interestingly, adoptive transfer techniques confirmed substantial infiltration of TCM cells to lung tissues during allergic airway inflammation. Expression levels of TCM homing receptors, CD34 and GlyCAM-1, were also significantly upregulated in the lung tissues of OVA-sensitized mice, which may facilitate the incr...

Detection of Salivary Tryptase Levels in Children following Oral Food Challenges
Conclusions: This study showed that tryptase can be detected in saliva of children following OFC. Increased levels of tryptase compared to baseline were found if the OFC outcome was positive, suggesting that measuring tryptase in saliva may be useful in the diagnosis of food allergy. Further research is needed to evaluate the potential association between tryptase levels and symptoms.Int Arch Allergy Immunol (Source: International Archives of Allergy and Immunology)

Risk Stratification as a Predictive Factor for Cephalosporin Allergy: A Case-Controlled Study
Conclusion: This model can be applied in children with suspected cephalosporin allergy. Skin testing provides diagnostic information in high-risk patients with immediate reactions and reduces the need for drug provocation testing in these patients. It is highly likely to confirm the diagnosis of low-risk patients directly with provocation tests without skin tests. High-risk and immediate reactions were found to be predictive factors for confirmed cephalosporin allergy.Int Arch Allergy Immunol (Source: International Archives of Allergy and Immunology)
