Acute, long-term or non-vincristine-induced peripheral neuropathy among non-Hodgkin lymphoma survivors: Symptoms, daily activities, functional status, and quality of life
CONCLUSION: Numbness and cramps should be addressed in survivors of acute and long-term VIPN. Preventing falls is recommended for NHL survivors with VIPN, and psychological support is suggested for long-term VIPN survivors.PMID:38461728 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejon.2024.102540 (Source: European Journal of Oncology Nursing)

Psychosocial interventions for childhood cancer survivors: Systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized control trials
CONCLUSIONS: Psychosocial interventions were not effective on quality of life and physical activity self-efficacy of childhood cancer survivors, however, long-term interventions provided improvement in these outcomes.REGISTRATION: The protocol for the meta-analysis was registered at PROSPERO (CRD42022375053/22 Nov 2022).PMID:38460392 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejon.2024.102541 (Source: European Journal of Oncology Nursing)

Family caregiver quality of life and symptom burden in patients with hematological cancer: A Danish nationwide cross-sectional study
CONCLUSION: Caregivers of patients with hematological cancers undergoing active treatment face a high symptom burden, which significantly impacts their QoL, including sleep, psychological well-being, and emotional health. Patients reported a high symptom burden, and patient symptom burden was significantly associated with caregiver QoL. Adequate patient and caregiver support is needed to promote their well-being and mitigate adverse health effects in caregivers, and this should be acknowledged in the context of caring for patients with hematological cancer.PMID:38457934 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejon.2024.102538 (Source: European Jo...

Evaluating oxidative stress biomarkers in oncology nurses exposed to antineoplastic drugs: A cross-sectional study
CONCLUSIONS: The findings of the present study showed that supplement consumption has a significant effect on the biomarker of total antioxidant capacity. Thus, total antioxidant capacity measurement is advised as the best biomarker for tracking oxidative status in nurses exposed to ADs due to its capacity to measure all antioxidants in the body, except the thiol group, and its lower cost when compared to other biomarkers. Furthermore, it can be claimed that the consumption of nutritional supplements has a greater effect on the non-enzymatic biomarkers of oxidative stress than on enzymatic antioxidant system.PMID:38452425 ...
