A systematic review of the barriers and facilitators impacting patient enrolment in clinical trials for lung cancer
CONCLUSIONS: There is need to address the many different concerns that lung cancer patients have about participating in a clinical trial through the supply of accessible and timely trial information, and via the reduction of travel, expansion of study eligibility criteria, and recognition of a person's altruistic wishes, hopes, fears, and family-oriented concerns. Future research should aim to work alongside lung cancer patients, clinicians, and other stakeholders to increase research accessibility.PMID:38554615 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejon.2024.102564 (Source: European Journal of Oncology Nursing)

Predictors of psychosocial adjustment and its subdomains in young adults with hematologic malignancy: A cross-sectional study
CONCLUSION: As young adults with higher symptom experiences, type D personality, low functional status, and shorter time since the last chemotherapy, and who are unemployed experience difficulties in psychosocial adjustment, healthcare professionals should evaluate their psychosocial adjustment and develop strategies to improve the same.PMID:38547745 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejon.2024.102571 (Source: European Journal of Oncology Nursing)

Health literacy in cancer care – A systematic review
Health literacy (HL) is a set of knowledge and skills that enables individuals to interpret and act upon health information, which is essential for health equity. There is a growing body of evidence in the field of HL in cancer care but there is, to our knowledge, no systematic review that explores the association between sociodemographic factors and HL among patients with cancer. The aim of this study was therefore to conduct a systematic review of the existing literature that assesses HL levels and the relationship between HL and sociodemographic factors in an adult cancer population.
