Comparison of Oral Health-Related Quality of Life scores in children treated for early childhood caries under general and local anesthesia: a quasi-experimental study
ConclusionEarly treatment for ECC reduces pain, restore normal activities, and improves the quality of life of affected children. Radiographic assessment of unerupted permanent maxillary canines and their relationship to the phases of dentition in mixed dentition Spanish children: a retrospective cross-sectional study
ConclusionNo significant association was found between the position and inclination of the unerupted maxillary canine in our sample. Ectopic maxillary canines had a higher incidence in girls, although we did not find statistically significant differences between genders. We observed a higher prevalence of abnormal position and inclination of the permanent maxillary canine in early mixed dentition. Maxillary canines were significantly elevated, further from the occlusal plane, in children with ectopic canines. (Source: European Archives of Paediatric Dentistry)

Oral complications associated with metal ion release from oral piercings: a systematic review
ConclusionOral piercings leach metal ions into surrounding tissues which may cause local mucosal changes. Furthermore, oral piercings cause damage to both soft and hard oral tissues, particularly gingival recession for lip piercings and tooth chipping for tongue piercings. Thus, to prevent such adverse injuries, dental professionals should discourage patients against oral piercings. (Source: European Archives of Paediatric Dentistry)
