Radiographic assessment of unerupted permanent maxillary canines and their relationship to the phases of dentition in mixed dentition Spanish children: a retrospective cross-sectional study

ConclusionNo significant association was found between the position and inclination of the unerupted maxillary canine in our sample. Ectopic maxillary canines had a higher incidence in girls, although we did not find statistically significant differences between genders. We observed a higher prevalence of abnormal position and inclination of the permanent maxillary canine in early mixed dentition. Maxillary canines were significantly elevated, further from the occlusal plane, in children with ectopic canines.
