Intraparotid node metastasis affects the long-term survival of patients with resectable recurrent parotid gland carcinoma
ConclusionAccording to this study, IPN metastasis indicate a high incidence of mortality in  recurrent parotid cancer patients. Particularly, in CN0 patients, the presence of IPN metastasis was associated with poor survival in CN0 patients. (Source: European Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology)

MRI surveillance after translabyrinthine vestibular schwannoma resection and cochlear implantation: is it feasible?
ConclusionMagnetic resonance imaging surveillance of the internal auditory canal following vestibular schwannoma resection and cochlear implantation is feasible and safe with modern implants with a 1.5T magnetic resonance imaging device using metal artifact reduction sequences. Necessary follow-up imaging should not be a contraindication for cochlear implantation in patients with vestibular schwannomas. (Source: European Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology)

Functional outcomes of soft palate reconstruction after oncologic surgery: a systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionsSoft palate reconstruction results in a low incidence of FTD, and most patients resume a full oral diet. Both obturators, primary closure, local and free flaps seem good reconstructive options. Nevertheless, more specific postoperative functional deficiencies like VPI and HN owns higher incidences, potentially affecting the quality of the swallowing and speaking function and the patient ’s quality of life. Hearing handicaps, communication difficulties and depression in the older adults: a comparison of hearing aid users and non-users
ConclusionIt seems that self-perceived handicaps, communication difficulties and depression are affected by many factors, and only receiving hearing aids without subsequent support such as auditory rehabilitation and programming services cannot bring the expected output. The effect of these factors was clearly observed due to reduced access to services in the COVID-19 era. (Source: European Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology)

Persistent Postural-Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD) and quality of life: a cross-sectional study
ConclusionPatients with PPPD have a higher burden of dizziness and a lower physical health-related quality of life (HRQoL) compared to other dizzy patients. The difference was evident also after adjusting for anxiety and depression, illustrating how PPPD is a different entity than these common psychiatric conditions. T-tube implantation combined with cricoid cartilage reconstruction in the treatment of congenital laryngeal webs with subglottic stenosis
ConclusionsChildren who have congenital laryngeal webs with subglottic stenosis required early tracheotomy. Open laryngoplasty combined with T-tube implantation and cricoid cartilage reconstruction may play a crucial role in the treatment of these children.
