School ethnic–racial socialization and adolescent ethnic–racial identity.
Conclusions: The findings highlight the importance of the school context in shaping students’ ethnic–racial socialization and identity. This study investigated how what adolescents learn about race/ethnicity and culture in school is associated with their ERI. The findings indicate that opportunities to learn about one’s culture are related to more identity exploration and greater sense of the importance of group membership. Furthermore, opportunities to learn about other cultures promote positive attitudes toward people of different races/ethnicities. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2022 APA, all rights reserved) (Sour...

Gendered racism, family and external shame, depressive symptoms, and alcohol use severity among Asian American men.
Conclusion: Gendered racism is an insidious psychiatric risk factor for AAM and appears to exacerbate family and external shame, which may subsequently and divergently increase depressive symptoms and alcohol use severity. Findings highlight the role of cultural factors within gendered racism-related stress processes among AAM. Future research should consider longitudinal designs and additional mediating and outcome variables to examine the behavioral health sequelae of gendered racism among AAM. Cardiac vagal control among migrants: Associations with mainstream acculturation and perceived ethnic discrimination.
Conclusions: This study replicates and extends prior work linking RSA and mainstream acculturation using a sample of racialized and marginalized migrants. Thus, this study also provides evidence that RSA is tied to how individuals successfully navigate novel social environments, including novel cultural contexts.
